El Patio Motel
800 Washington Street, Florida, 33040, United States
Perfect location for everything!
The motel was located within walking distance of everything,it was wonderful! We were 2 blocks from Duval St.,and 1 block from the beach.Whether we wanted the serene beauty of vacation in the Keys,or the night life and shopping of Duval St.,we were at the perfect location!
Everyone working at the motel, from the owners,to the cleaning staff, treated us with warm and friendly personalities. The rooms were clean, private and cozy. The next time we visit the keys, this is where we will stay, we were made to feel like family.I have already, and will continue to recommend this place to everyone! Thank you again
Unique Quality: The pool was clean, quaint and private, the sundeck upstairs offered an amazing view, comfortable chairs, and the interior garden with the fountain and plants was a constant invitation to sit and enjoy the ambience.
Directions: close to the southernmost area, within walking distance of everything!
More about El Patio Motel
We fell in love with El Patio Motel
My Husband and I live in Jacksonville FL. Two years ago, our son and his fiancee came to visit from The Netherlands , so we decided to visit Key West. We found El Patio Motel through a coupon book and enjoyed the stay so much that we are planning a trip to Key West to stay at El Patio again this year when they are comming for a return visit. We traveled all over the world, but we really enjoyed the down home hospitality at this motel.
O'Neals from Jacksonville
our stay spoiled
We liked the dated look of the place on our first and very brief visit to Key West. Unfortunately, raucous neighbors partying kept us up most of the night, sounds reverberating throughout the courtyard, and half the windows didn't open-so much for the breeze. Unfortunate, too, the front desk staff, particularly the gentleman (ha) who bluntly advised we could not use the bathroom when we returned to the motel to collect our car, before the long trek up the keys, on our way out of town - after a stay at his establishment of less then 18 hrs. And the promised dip in the pool was out of the question. he claimed to have been resident of the island for the past 30 years-doesn't speak well for the place or his motel.
Great Value and Location
We just returned after staying at the El Patio in Key West. 50's / 60's style hotel, well maintained. Close to the Atlantic side beaches. Nice pool, patio area to relax. Very friendly employees who go out of their way to help with any guest needs.
Plenty of "free" parking. 3 blocks from Duval Street. Very affordable rates.
Great location, Great price, No problems at all!
My partner and I stopped at the El Patio from the 1st - 4th May 2007 in the middle of our Florida tour. We booked the hotel using a voucher from a Florida Hotels booklet we picked up in Orlando and this got us rates of $86 per night inc tax. This is a bargain because lots of places in Key West wand $120 -150 plus $11 per night parking and El Patio has free off road parking! The room we were given was large with two seperate rooms both with double beds and a small but clean bathroom. Although the room looked dated and the bathroom a little tired everything was clean and tidy and there was a very effective air con unit which you will need in Key West! The hotel has a lovely pool, great roof terrace for sun worshippers and lovely tropical gardens in the middle of the courtyards outside the rooms. It is situated 2 blocks from the beach, 2 blocks from the 'Most Southernly Point of Continental USA' and just over 1 mile from Mallory square, but dont let this distance put you off because it is situated just off the bottom of Duval street. This means the walk to Mallory square is basically straight up the very lively Duval St which is a great walk and very safe, even in the middle of the night. If we ever return to Key West we will definately stay here again and the only reason it's not getting a 5/5 is because the bathroom ws a little dated, other than that the hotel is great!
Nice location, able to walk off our meals/drinks!
Just returned from a short stay at this very clean, reasonably priced older motel. We love to walk on our vacations and their location near Southern Most point was far enough from the tourist areas to be quiet but close enough that we could leave our car and walk everywhere we wanted to go. Nice, friendly and helpful staff made our trip enjoyable. There is temporary construction going on right across the street so it tends to get noisey during the week days.
Good price in Key West but overrated
Stayed here on Memorial Day in room 12 on ground level.
Very old interior and strong smell off dampness and mold. Room is small compared to motels outside of the Keys that charge $89,-. 'Free guest bikes' can be rented for $15 a day once you find out they are locked...
Pool area is nice. No 24-hour attendance of reception in case you find this important...
Nice for the price
My Son and I stayed at El Patio for 2 nights just last week and had a great time. The hotel is old but well kept and very clean. The staff (especially George) was very nice and saw to it that we had a nice room and everything that we needed. The gounds and pool were landscaped and very clean for a hotel that is that old. It is located in old town Key West but a little far to be walking on Duval Street. We rented scooters which George helped us to do and it was perfect. This is a bare bones hotel for a short stay in Key West. The rooms do not have a view, microwave, or a coffee maker but they do all have a small fridge. I would reccomend El Patio to anyone who is looking for a nice clean economy hotel in Old Town Key West.
Just what we were looking for
My husband and I stayed at El Patio on our recent trip to Key West to get married. We had planned to stay at the Navel base guest housing during our stay (he is in the reserves), but they were full so they recommended we try El Patio. The hotel is older but in a very nice section of Key West and it has been very well maintained. Our room was nice size, the closet space was very large and our bathroom was small, but served its purpose. The property had plenty of parking for its guests which is a hard thing to find in Key West. The flowers around the property and especially at the pool were gorgeous! We are not the kind of people who need a 5 star resort to be comfortable. We just need a nice, clean, quiet place with a nice staff and El Patio fit this bill perfectly. We really enjoyed the more "classic Key West" feel to this motel. It is four blocks from Higgs Beach and two blocks from Duval. However, you will want to drive to the more "happening" end of Duval Street. Renting a scooter is the way to go. We found a double scooter for $65 for the day. We saw every nook and cranny of Key West on that thing and didn't have to feed the meters! Great experience that helped make our wedding memorable.
Nice stay at El Patio!
The price was right at $89.00 a night. The residential neighborhood is very nice. Just a couple of blks from world famous Duval Street.
The older gentleman who checked me in was very polite and did a good job as a concierge. He rented me one of the bicycles they had on the property. It was great to explore the island on.
The room was a little dated. The bathroom was small. But the airconditioner worked and everything was clean. I did'nt need much more. There wasnt any wireless in the room but there was internet in the pool area and in front of the hotel.
The grounds are immaculately kept and beautifully landscaped. The pool is small but sparkling blue. I had it all to myself for a couple hours one afternoon.
I have a Masters in Hotel and Tourism Management, so I am quite critical of hotels and customer service. I had no complaints here. I totally enjoyed my stay at the El Patio and Key West. Go ahead and book a room here.
