Key West at Christmas

"Hyatt Beach House Resort"
The Hyatt Beach House Resort was a great place to return to each evening. Since it is basically set up for time share use, it is all suites. We had a two BR suite with living room, dining room and screen-in porch. The pool was nice, but no real beach. We cooked a few meals here, but generally ate out. The town is great for people watching; good for kids, too. If you visit, be sure to eat brunch or breakfast at Blue Heaven in town. What a great atmosphere!

Incredible sunsets!
"Key West Beach"
We really enjoyed this beach near the airport in Key West.

Hyatt Beach House Resort

My wife and I are thinking about exchanging a time share for one in Key West. We are thinking about using the Hyatt Beach House Resort. Has anyone stayed there recently who would be willing to tell us what it was like?

We didn't stay there, but we did stay at the Hyatt Windward Pointe - the Hyatt Beach House looks comparable (we know because we managed to get lost finding Windward Pointe and wound up at Beach House for directions). Anyway Windward Pointe was GREAT, the two bedroom unit that we had was beautiful. Very clean, lovely pool, nice ocean view from private balcony. Sometimes the pictures on the company web sites are not representative, but our experience was everything the pictures implied. I can't say enough good things about it - it was very close to the airport which we liked as husband enjoys aviation, but might not be for everyone. My husband and kids (19 & 20 at the time) and I agree it was the best Florida vacation we've ever had. If you like to jet ski take the ski tour that leaves from the pier downtown where the cruise ships come in by Mallory square, they have great equipment - believe me we gave it a run - and offer a guided tour all around the island. Husband and 'motor head' son got to do their thing, see comment re equipment, and daughter and I went at our own pace but they managed to keep track of us all and everyone had a good time and got to see the whole island from the water. Blue Heaven is a great place for breakfast - kids loved the resident chickens. The snorkel boat from the same pier is also a good time. Definitely use one of the Hyatts - you won't regret it. Libbie
