Perfect location
La Pensione is quite centrally located, a few minutes walk to the tourist places such as Duval Street, Mallory Square, Southernmost point, Truman's little white house, etc. You can rent a bicycle from the hotel and just cycle around if you don't feel like walking. Plenty of restaurant choices within walking distance.
We stayed in room 5, a quiet room at the back corner upstairs with simple decor. Some rooms had balconies but ours didn't. Those rooms could be loud as they were facing the busy street. The king size bed was comfy. The room itself was spacious with a closet and drawers, as well as a couple of chairs and table in the sitting area by the large windows. The bathroom didn't have enough hooks or bars for towels though. Yes there is no tv, but who really needs one when you are on vacation trying to get away from everything! There is one in the kitchen downstairs that is tuned to the weather channel, and it's turned on during the day when there is somebody in the office.
The owner and staff were friendly and helpful.
Unique Quality: We enjoyed sitting at the front porch watching people and cars passing by. There is an outdoor pool but it's too cold to get in. And there are 6 or 7 parking spots for guests. Breakfast was simple with cereal bowls, hard-boiled eggs, fruits, bagels, and home-made waffles to choose from. The waffles were great!

Great Bed & Breakfast Key west
This place was very nice.
It was clean and the room we stayed in was big.
There was a nice pool. And it was located a few blocks from Duval.
A long walk but still it was good exercise.
(You are not right off of Duval, you will be walking a while.)
The people who work at the inn were really nice.
When we checked in they sat us down and told us what places to go in key west. This is was really nice. They took out a map and said go here to eat and go here to shop.
It was really quiet and i always had a good nights sleep.
Price was reasonable but we went in the low season (summer.)
Break was nice but not fancy like most bed and breakfast i have stayed at. It was more like a hotel continentals breakfast.
But i enjoyed eating regular food and not crazy fancy omelets.
The only complaint i have is there is no TV in the rooms. That was a bummer.
But there is wireless access.

Great B&B!
Rooms are nice and very clean, breakfast is delicious (coffee, fruit, bagels, hard-boiled eggs, fabulous waffles, etc.), staff is courteous, etc. This B&B is located only a couple blocks from Duval Street so there is no need to drive anywhere. The building is a charming Victorian, built in 1891, I believe. Off-street parking is provided.
Unique Quality: Pool, great location, beautiful building, wrap-round porch, beautiful landscaping.
We booked this B&B for $105 per night, so about $50 per person. At this price, it was cheaper than other locations. However, the value is average, I would say. It was a great deal.
