I am currently staying at Parrot key resort and offer the following opinion regarding the property:
Pro: The grounds are absolutely beautiful and the rooms are clean and practically new.
Con: Every downstairs room has a beautiful spacious porch from which to enjoy the lush environment - but no chairs to sit in! No reason was offered for this oversight.
Con: Parrot Key bills itself as a "luxury" resort and even charges a daily "resort fee", yet many features were unavailable or off limits after sundown. The property has four beautiful lighted pool areas but close all but one after sundown. No reason was offered for this restriction.
Con: The "luxury" room I stayed in did not come equipped with an iron and the laundry facility on site didn't either.
Con: Don't be misled by their use of the term "waterfront" in the property description. There is no beach, per se, just some sandy areas within a fenced area without water access. The only real waterfront views are from a few second story rooms.
Con: Ice buckets are furnished in the room but there are no ice machines. You must go to the pool bar for ice but it's not always open.

Unique Quality: I have not stayed at this hotel, but it is one that I considered the primary one to stay at if I could not get a space on NAS Key West. They have a full hot breakfast. It is well situated for staying outside of Old Town. It is on Salt Run Channel and there are rentals on the channel of boats etc. The pool is open 24 hours, and they have a Tiki Bar from which you can watch the sunset. It is right across the street from the Key West Diner, and TGI Fridays which are in a shopping center, it is next to Home Depot and Walgrens, and it is on a bus route to downtown.

My girlfriend and I had a nice romantic getaway at the Parrot Key Resort. Priscilla at the front desk was both friendly and attentive. I especially liked how the entire hotel staff treated us as if we were the most important and only guests they had. We were both impressed by how meticulous the grounds were kept and the attention to detail they made in the landscaping. We loved seeing the beautiful sculptures and lush tropical gardens by the pools. Our unit had amazing panoramic ocean views, with palm trees and pristine beach sand at our back porch; this was an ideal setting for the legendary Key West Sunsets. Everything in our unit was top of the line and brand new. Each bedroom had a large flat screen TV, DVD player, and one room even had a gaming system. Our kitchen had plenty of space, gorgeous granite counters and fully stocked with everything necessary to make a gourmet dinner. The décor, the furniture, and the beds created at atmosphere that was both inviting and relaxing. We had plenty of storage for our clothes and personal items. The master bathroom had a beautiful glass shower and a separate bathtub for relaxation. The housekeeping staff was warm, unobtrusive, and thorough. The resort location was perfect; we were close enough to take a short ride to Duval Street or Mallory Square, but far enough away to feel like we were on our own paradise oasis in the Keys. We were within walking distance to a large drug store, grocery store and every type of water excursion possible. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone who is looking to have a romantic getaway or honeymoon in Key West.
This place is awesome!

We stayed here for a long weekend, everything in the unit was exceptional. The four pool areas are surrounded with lush landscaping. We rented scooters for runs into downtown Key West which made parking very easy. Hopefully this will be an annual weekend getaway spot. I highly recommend the Parrot Key Resort.

The Parrot Key Resort is a first class resort that I would recommend to anyone traveling to Key West from around the country. From the wonderful concierge service to the facilitiies on the grounds, it really felt like a true island getaway experience. I was amazed at how spaciious the private villas were and everything is brand new! There are plenty of places to eat close bye and Duval Street was only a short cab ride away. I would definetely suggest staying at this top notch resort whether your visit is for business or pleasure.

At home at Parrot

Parrot Key is a gorgeous hotel set right off the Gulf of Mexico. The rooms were beach style villas decorated and filled with the amentities you need to feel like you are on a five star vacation. From the welcoming staff to the amazing villas, we really did feel as if this was a home away from from home.
Not only were we just a twenty minute walk away from what Key West is known for, Duval Street. We were across the street from several shops and restaurants. We were close enough to the action, but far enough to feel like we were able to sit back and relax.
Thank you to everyone at Parrot Key for making me and my family really feeling like we were on vacation!

Unfriendly service - make that non-existant service! absolutely no customer service, or management involvement in anything. beautiful grounds, great villa, BUT two of the four pools were closed, leaving the two smallest operational. nobody bothered to inform us ahead that this would be the case - to add insult to injury they were powerwashing the tiles, which made for great relaxation and pollution! yuk!! Cafe blue was closed, no gym, no facilities, nothing.... oh and no towels at the pool. They'd bring them in four or five at a time. little screaming kids everywhere - not a great place if you're looking for a relaxing time. they just opened up a few months ago and obviously still have a lot of kinks to work out. WOULD NOT recommend it for nothing.

It was our first time visiting The Keys. The location of this property relative to historic downtown Key West is excellent. The actual property itself, is its own private oasis, ideal for a quiet family vacation. Beautiful beach homes, landscaping and pool areas and views. Our 8-year old had fun playing in the man-made sand beach outside our back door. The staff was very accomodating and attentive. We look forward to returning next year!

It's hard to beat a brand new facility! The beach houses were wonderful and inviting. Very, very clean which is hard to find in Key West. The front desk staff was attentive to our every need and very friendly.
