Highly Recommended Guesthouse

This wonderfully quaint guesthouse surprised my wife and I from the moment we stepped through the gate. What appears to be a rather small buidlding from the street expands to a large compound situated around a well landscaped pool and breakfast area. Rooms are scattered in a number of small buidlings connected by a wandering boardwalk. Palm trees and tropical flowers are everywhere. Look for off-season and internet specials.

Unique Quality: We had the pleasure of staying in the suite which was decorated by a local artist. From the unique woodwork and bamboo on the walls to the rain shower and the large whirlpool hottub, everything was perfect!

Friendly and charming guesthouse on Duval

When go to Key West, that's where I try to stay at. Beautiful Caribbean style cottages right on Duvall Street. This place gets full very early, so you wantto book way ahead of time if you plan to come to Key West for a special event like Fantasy Fest.

Unique Quality: Location, lush setting and pool

Perfect Vacations

by A TripAdvisor Member

I was there with my wife the 2nd week of december and I confirmed that all the reviews about this place are true.

It´s like been in home in the paradise of Key West, also the staff is extremely kind. There are some rules about the noise in the night that make that place real good to relax.

And the location is perfect at Duval Street, whenever I come back to KW this wil be the place to stay again.

DISSAPOINTED

Booked Christmas week after reading all the positive reviews on this site. Location is ok. Staff very helpful. The property is rather shabby and run down. The "grounds" are not impressive at all. The rooms are small and the whole place seems in need of a lot of maintenance.

There are lots of cleaner and more appealing places to stay in Key West. I would not go back to the Wicker.

We had a great time

We stayed just before Christmas and not only were the staff extremely helpful and the location excellent but our room was upgraded free of charge because we 'sounded nice on the phone'! try getting that at some of your bigger hotels. We hope to return at some point.

Lovely

My husband and I went on a second honeymoon to the Keys and we booked a room in Marathon thinking that Key West wouldn't be for us. However, when we did go to Key West and by chance, went into the Wicker Guesthouse we were pleasantly surprised. We changed our accomodations and moved into the Wicker the next day. We found the facility to be very quaint and charming. It is not a fancy, ostentatious B&B but a comfortable, relaxing, getaway right on the main drag in Key West. The staff was very accomodating and helpful. We loved it and plan to return.

Great location, staff, and place.

My wife and I just returned home from the Wicker Guesthouse after a 4-day stay in Key West. We stayed in a suite room (#22) and thought it was wonderful. The recently renovated bathroom with its jacuzzi tub was especially gorgeous. The grounds were very nice as was the pool area. As for location, it can't be beat. Its far enough down Duval St. to stay relatively quiet at night but the majority of the street action is only a short walk away. Terri was also great as was the whole staff. We would highly recommend the Wicker Guesthouse and will definitely stay again when we return to Paradise. (As a quick aside, here was our favorite daily agenda: breakfast at My Blue Heaven, lunch and drinks at Schooners Warf, watch the Sunset at Mallory Square, dinner and drinks along Duval St., and ending up at the Green Parrot till the wee hours. Have fun!)

Beyond our expectations

We stayed for 2 nights in early February, 2005, on the advice of friends. We got a surprise room upgrade at check-in. An excellent location--toward the quieter end of Duval but close enough to walk anywhere--never used the car. Everything was attractive, clean, comfortable and relaxed. The grounds were very pretty. The other guests were friendly and interesting. The staff was very helpful and flexible when we had to solve a minor personal problem. An excellent value in pricy Key West. We'll stay there again if we go back.

Friendly staff

We stayed in Wicker house from the 23rd January 2005 till 26th January 2005. We were fortunate that we had good price deal and having looked around a variety of not so good places Wicker Guesthouse was pleasant surprise. It was family friendly and clean. The staff especially Kevin was a nice chap who was obviously used to seeing kids run around. The breakfast was good. Especially our 21 month old daughter loved the little wendy house. We will throughly recommend for any one and especially the ones with the little kids as quite a few places in Kew West do not want young kids.

The Wonderful Wicker!

The wicker Guesthouse is simply a delight! The rooms are charming, comfy and clean and the grounds lovely. The location is great....right on Duval Street in Old Town, close to everything, however totally quiet once inside the grounds. The staff is very helpful and went out of their way to help us with a parking challenge.
