Grocery stores in Kissimmee?
Hello
My husband and I will be staying at High Point World Resort (on High Pt Blvd off of 192) from Nov 21-28. Its a time share so we will be cooking at least half of our meals. Do you know of any grocery stores nearby? Thanks for your help.

Will you be walking or driving?
I am sure there will be 2 or 3 within 1-2 miles, this is the USA after all. By that I mean selection and service.

We will have a car, so we have some leeway. Can't find much on the net, and did notice a Maingate mall nearby on the map (presumably a strip mall) but can't find anything about it.

It looks like there is a Publix grocery store, two actually, nearby...
7726 W Irlo Bronson Memorial (0.6 miles away)
and at
14928 E Orange Lake Blvd (1.9 miles away)
or a Winn-Dixie Grocery at 7840 W Irlo Bronson (1.9 miles away).
I think I was at Publix on Orange when I was there a few months ago - large, good selection.
The management office staff at the resort should be able to direct you quite easily or you can MapQuest these addresses for directions from your hotel. You will definitely save money by cooking for yourselves. Have a great trip!

Don't worry about grocery stores. There's a lot on 192. You will see some as you drive so, no need in preparing.

there is a very big wal mart.
i think it is at marker 16.
there is a kind of fake castle medieval times dinner show nearby.
try to search on google for adress

Winn Dixie is Ghetto (not a good selection).
Walmart is EVIL (displacing workers for slave labor)...
So you better stick to Publix for non-tourist prices and good selection.

Thank you everyone for your help. Publix it is - I think its the closest anyway since I looked on Mapquest.
Hopefully the hurricane Charley damage wasn't too bad there from this past Friday-Saturday.
And Hexepatty, if you think Walmart is evil, have you seen the documentary "The Corporation"? We saw part 2 last week and are looking forward to part 3 on Wednesday on our local TVO station. It didn't say too much about Walmart itself, but it did about other corporations - its a real eye opener! It also had a whole section on Disney and also the Disney community called Celebration - which is not far from where we'll be. We'll have to check it out.
