 | Marathon Reviews | Tips 1 - 10 of 14 | | Highly recommend. The grounds are so pretty, I snapped many pictures. Cute gift shop. For a small inn, there are a variety of room layouts and ammenities. Great for families too. When we returned from our adventures, it felt like arriving home. Quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed the fridge and microwave so that we didn't have to eat out every meal and could enjoy lazy mornings.
The views of the ocean are very pretty. The changing tides interesting. Loved the peddle boat. Each room is a different theme. Leave a Comment

Nice place with good amenities. I prefer the smaller more intimate motels in the Keys however. Normally we get an RCI trade into places like this, so we don't ever pay the rull "rack rate". Also, during off season you can often find space and maybe even find it at a discount (is there one in Florida?? -- yes... the week before Christmas. That week the Keys are a ghost town). You can also check with the Chamber of Commerce on the various Keys and find last minute openings or cancellations which go for a very reasonable price, but usually you have to wait until just a few days prior to your trip to snap these deals up. We stayed here on one of our Florida vacations. You are literally staying on your own small Key in small cottages. We were collecting marine life for our aquarium and found that Florida's Disney World staff for the Living Sea uses this same place as a base for collecting their marine specimens. We'd compare our trophies to theirs each evening. The place is very private. There was a salt water crocodile in the mangrove root-tangled shore around this tiny Key, so swimming was off limits (a self imposed edict). Some staff at the time seemed to be a hornosexual so we also kept an eye to the rear (a self imposed edict as well). Hidden away 1 mile off US1 in a neighborhood. On the water, small, quiet.
Beautiful view of the ocean and lagoon. No pool, but close to the beach. Has large rooms and very small rooms. Clean and quiet. Faro Blanco is a hotel complex and two marinas. The two marinas are Faro Blanco Oceanside and Faro Blanco Bayside. I have not stayed at any of them. I know from listening to the VHF radio that the two marinas do not communicate with each other. I would not trust that the management of the hotel was much better. I can't find any information out about the availability of rooms. I do not know if there is a hotel at Oceanside. The restaurants are no longer in business in either place, and all that's left is Anglers Bar.
The Bayside landmark is a lighthouse. Leave a Comment
