Golf for hours
by chewysocky
There's an excellent golf course off the highway going to Orlando, it's called the Turtle Creek Golf and Country Club. This course is amazing, the fairways are clean, beauthiful scenery, palm trees lining the rough, it's amazing If you can you should try bring your own golf clubs, but they also rent so it's not a big deal
An Atlantic View!
by Dancer_75 about Ocean View Diner
Okay, this is an interesting diner. They relocated after last year's hurricanes. The diner is smaller, but they are rebuilding. I honestly enjoyed the food every time I went and they were good portions. I have always received good service and sometimes the locals are intertaining, along with the cats, who wait outside for your scraps. However, the view is wonderful! If you don't go to eat a full meal, it is nice for coffee and baklava, just for the view of the ocean! I always enjoy the gyro platter. Sometimes if I save room, I go for the baklava....I am such a bad girl! ;)
Seafood or Steak Dinners with a Water View
by gkitzmil about Bonefish Willie's
Relax, sit outside, enjoy good seafood, pasta or a steak. Take in the view of the Indian River! Have a glass of wine or a bottle of Hurrican Reef (local) beer (or most big brands, too). Stuffed Shrimp - delicate shrimp, stuffing with crab, baked. Delicious
Conch fritters, not hard and chewy but soft with great flavor
Scallops with mushrooms

~ Melbourne, Florida ~
by noidiotsplease
The Space Coast (common name for Brevard County in Central East Florida) is best known for the Kennedy Space Center and Cocoa Beach, which are in the northern half of the county. Most of the county's resident population, however, lives in or around Melbourne, a coastal city located midway between Jacksonville and Miami with a string of small beach towns often overlooked by many Florida visitors.
"The Space Coast's quieter shore"
Although it has been outgrown by the neighboring suburban city of Palm Bay, Melbourne is the cultural, commercial, and business hub of Brevard County. The city has a historic downtown district that is home to several unique stores, a variety of restaurants, and even a hip local coffee shop. A few blocks away, Manatee Park and neighboring Melbourne Harbor are good places for a leisurely stroll by the water or to scan the water for manatees. The downtown area also has a few mid-rise office buildings dotting its "skyline" along the Indian River (Intracoastal Waterway). West of downtown, Melbourne has its own small "International" Airport. The two closest malls are the Melbourne Mall, which is in neighboring West Melbourne on U.S. 192, and The Avenue in Viera, a short drive north of Melbourne up I-95 at the Wickham Road exit.
The narrow strip of land dividing the Indian River from the Atlantic is split into a handful of small, laid-back beach communities including active and appealing Indialantic, and residential Melbourne Beach to the south. Further north, visitors can stay at Brevard County's tallest hotel in Canova Beach or make a Wal-Mart run to commercialized Indian Harbor Beach. Upscale Satellite Beach is a residential community bordering Patrick Air Force Base.
