More about Holiday Inn Oceanfront

Elegant beach hotel with amazing views

by TripAdvisor Member ssgomezz

I cannot say enough about the beauty of this hotel and the beach it sits on. One review said something about the beach being just ok-that is not correct. I live very close by and am a Florida native and have been to just about every beach on every coast-this beach is clean with light colored sand and the waves are terrific. The hotel has just been redone after the hurricanes of 2004 and it is amazing. We stayed in a suite-got an excellent rate I guess b/c it is summer- so our room was of course larger than standard, but if you have any balcony room facing the ocean, you feel like you could jump right into the water from your patio. And the ocean front part looks right over the deck and bar area. You can eat or drink outside practically right in the ocean. The good thing-I thought-is that the pool is off to the side-not east of the hotel on the ocean. This means that if families want only a partial ocean view, they will be able to look out their hotel room to the pool and the ocean. For us-adults (a friend's 40th birthday celebration) who wanted a quiet room, the pool was barely visible and we got no pool noise in our room. For vacationers here-you many want to rent a car as there is not much you can walk to from here. There are sidewalks on A1A if you want to go for a stroll, but to get to the restaurants up and down A1A you would be walking no less than 3 miles, usually more. We had an great dinner at The Dove (Italian-kind of fancy) and that is about 3 miles from the hotel-maybe a little more. Then a very healthy breakfast at the Health Station (listed in phone book as health food store but they have a cafe that looks like a NYC artsy restaurant and serves breakfast and lunch)-which I guess could be walking distance but it was too hot. This is a very casual beach town, not fancy and well-manicured like Boca-but that seems to make it feel more small town. Very friendly and very safe.

Great Location, Friendly Staff

Spent 6 days at this hotel in early December, on vacation. Really nice location; the area is more of a condo area than a hotel strip. Staff was very friendly and helpful; when I arrived my oceanfront room wasn't ready yet, so they moved me to a corner suite. I would recommend anything oceanfront; the hotel sits very close to the ocean and you get a good sized balcony. Hotel was extremely clean; housekeeping did a great job on the room. Room service dinner was very good; breakfast just okay. Didn't use the restaurant, although the outside deck for the restaurant looked like a great place to eat and watch the ocean. Plenty of parking, easy access to the hotel. All in all, a great stay and location.

Lovely beachfront Hotel

Great little oceanfront town. Perfect hote for families.
The rooms were spacious and comfortable, I had a 'partial' ocean view, and wasn't expecting much, but was very plesantly suprised. I could see the ocean from most parts of my room - including in bed. Plus the balcony had unobstructed views.
The oceanfront restaurant is quite nice as well. Nothing specatcualr, but driving around town it wouldn't suprise me if it was one of the best in the immidiate area.
Would reccommend for families.

Not for those who want to relax.

I booked this hotel for a week-long getaway hoping to get some much needed R & R. I admit, the hotel has a beatiful setting and outstanding deck and pool area. But here are some issues I noticed: very noisy. My room faced the pool, which, granted, has noise, but they pipe music onto the deck area into the late hours which resonates to the pool area. Plus, they often have bands that play anywhere from 5pm to 11pm or later. If you are ever looking to take a nap, good luck. Just about everyone has a balcony, which is also great, however, be prepared for inconsiderate people to sit outside and talk loudly all hours of the night. The hotel boasts a great sleeping environment, and they even offer ear plugs! Too bad you need them. Very uncomfortable when sleeping. The room is not as large as it looks online. I've had bigger rooms at La Quinta or Best Western. Also, for those with kids, be aware that you might need to go to other beaches down the road as there is a large rocky reef which is dangerous when swimming. In my opinion, look at other hotels!

Very pleased...should have stayed longer

When we arrived a bit early our room was not yet available. The front desk staff and concierge were extremely helpful - held our luggage while we changed and went to the beach. It was extremely hot this day & I was elated by the fact we were going to cool off. This beach & water were beautiful! The hotel was very nice & clean, the layout was workable. The pool area was a smidge crowded. There was a wedding the weekend we were there. We watched the ceremony while we dined on the deck. Let me tell you this: THE BEDS ARE THE MOST COMFORTABLE I HAVE EVER SLEPT ON!!! While the rooms could use a foot or two more space, it's not a huge deal if you're not spending any time in there except to sleep and shower. We slept so soundly and awoke refreshed! We were not disturbed one time by any noise - and our room was adjacent to the pool on the bottom level.
My only complaint - but it was a splurge - was the elaborate cost of the ice cream parlor. My goodness was it expensive!! Otherwise, I have absolutely NO complaints. I would recommend this place and we would absolutely return. Summer at this beach is beautiful. Hopefully next time we'll stay longer than one night!!!!
