Don't bother
by TripAdvisor Member Like2travel
We stayed at the Best Western South Beach on a Saturday night in November 04. I wish I had read the review before booking the room. The lobby didn't looked so bad, but don't let it fool you. The rooms are a different story.
The hotel is old and the rooms were dirty. I didn't even sit on the bedspread because it looked so bad and let's not even talk about the carpet and the mold in the shower.
Thank goodness it was only for one night and we stayed out late the night before so it was only for a few hours.
The only good thing about this hotel is the location.

Hotels to stay at include the art deco places on Ocean Drive with the reasonably priced Adrian hotel right smack in the middle of the ultimate cruising street. High season prices were an affordable $90 a night. If you don’t mind music blaring until 5am, stay here but if you would like to sleep a little big while the moon is out request a room in the back garden area.
Finding a hotel at the airport
by balisunshine about Several
If you're arriving late at MIA,
or for just a few hours,
don't sweat it if
you didn't pre-book.
At the arrival level
you have a board with
a direct phone line
to quite a few hotels
located near by the airport.
Most of them have a shuttle
that will pick you up.
If you're looking to stay in South Beach,
this is not the place to look. Most hotels have a
free shuttle from the airport.

If you are looking for a nice hotel, make sure u stay with a known chain in the beach area. If prices are too high, then u may want to stay close to the airport.
Check priceline.com you can usually get good hotels through them, but make sure u choose 3***'s or better
Best for the money !!!
by jlanza29 about Crowne Plaza Royal Palm Resort
Located literally next to the Loews Hotel the Crowne Plaza is not a cheap place but not luxurious either.....the rooms are average in size and the balconies are very small.........even though a very large hotel, it has a feel of a small place......this might be the cheapest of the decent hotels in all of South Beach.......great for a family !!!!! No on site parking, valet parking only.....but only $13 a day

the ritz carlton resort hotel is a luxury resort hotel located in central key biscayne. the ritz carlton has a beautiful pool in a tropical setting and rooms with ocean and bayside views. the ritz carlton offers all of the amenities that you would expect from this high end chain. as with most south florida hotels prices are higher during the winter tourist season.
Finding a Hotel in South Beach
by katmag
If you pull up a map of Miami Beach on Mapquest, type in 1500 Collins Ave into the search. The best street to stay on is either Collins Ave or Ocean Drive. If you stay on Ocean, you will be in the nicest area, but will not have beach access because Ocean Drive faces a really long Lummus Park and public beach and only has establishments on the non-beach side of the street, until you get to the very tip, but that area is kind of shady. Collins Ave has hotels that have the ocean as their back yard, but only the ones in the odd numbers. The evens are on the opposite side of the street and all you get is a pool. To be walking distance to Ocean Drive and most of the night clubs on Washington Street, you want to be somewhere between the numbers 1500-1900 on Collins. These numbers are the numbers of actual hotels and buildings. At 1500 Collins Avenue, the street continues on straight, but Ocean Drive cuts in and it becomes the oceanfront street, so if you're staying on Collins at a hotel numbered lower than 1500, you will not have access to the beach, and you might not even be able to see it from your window. There is no more beach access on either side of Collins Ave after the number 1500.
Renaissance Eden Roc Resort
by donovanel about Renaissance Eden Roc Resort
$60/nite!! Very luxurious--and right on the beach. I am a connesuer of gyms in hotels and this one was great. A variety of cardio equipment, a rock-climbing wall, indoor full size basketball court, weights, aerobic classes--you get the picture. The rooms were very well equipped--our room overlooked the ocean--I would definitely stay here again. And if you want to pamper yourself, they have it all: full-service salon, massage therapy, yoga...a true resort.

why stay 'very near' when you can stay on the Beach at South Beach? Go to Hotels.com, or last Minute Travel and do a Hotel search... you can sort by price. Good Luck. Oh.. the Beacon Hotel is a really nice place for not a lot of money.

Another great place to find good offers are the classifieds for apartment rentals:
see the following link for example:

Lots of people own apartments in the hotels and rent out at good prices I found a great offer for the Fontainebleau
Catholic gospel churches
by Nyhuus
Hi,
My wife and I gonna visit Miami the 25 th. November and we will like to visit a real black gospel church for a messe. Can anyone tell us where we can find one. We gonna stay at Best western south beach hotel.
RE: Catholic gospel churches
by donato1899
you won't find black gospel music in a catholic church. You will have to go to a protestant church, Baptist or some other. There proably is not one on south beach but for sure you can find one in Miami.

Thank you again for your help.

I am in Switzerland right now. I know some churches in Miami but cannot put a name and address together without a phone book. Next week when I return I will do some research and give you a name and address.
I got my olive brances, palm sunday, at home we only get palm fronds.
Port hotels

Does anyone have information on a good hotel near the port that will allow you to leave your car?
Thanks !

Help me out. Leave your car at the hotel for what? While you take a cruise?
RE: RE: Port hotels
by midnight_mike
You have me confused... or maybe you are confused and don't know it yet. The port of Miami is a very large place. There are no hotels there... yes, there are hotels just outside of the port area, but if you have a car why would you stay in that area. Downtown Miami is not the ideal place to stay. Miami Beach is where everywhere stays when they go to Miami.
If you are going on a cruise, do some research on the company's web site about where to park your car. Hotels will not let you leave a car in their parking lot--if they have a parking lot--while you are on a cruise.
