Here's a fellow co-worker, Mary Avalos, holding a baby aligator. One night we had a Florida-version of a petting zoo. Aligators, parakets, jaguars, boa constrictors and various other animals native to Florida were brought in for us to hold.

Originaly designed as a "Spanish village" in the early 1920's, Espanola Way features the Clay Hotel&International Hostel, which has a special place in Maimi hearts. It was formerly the home of none other than Desi Arnaz, who also had a club here, and AI Capone's S&H
Cambling Syndicate, which had a casino in the middle wing, now rooms 128 to 138. The most striking section in the short block between Washington and Drexel Aves, which is lined with- well , there's no other world but adorable- Spanish-style buildings.

Reckon with the latino-american character of Miami. Spanish is as important as American (a kind of English) and is spooken by a large number of the population. The influence by these Cuban Americans is noticed best in Calla Ocho (8th street), however you better hold on to your wallets as well in some parts of this neighborhood.

Best Bargains in Miami
by dennisruiz about You won't Believe this!
Traveling to Miami is like going to another country - without ever leaving the good old USA. We have a rich and diverse Cuban and Latin American-influenced culture with many people speaking Spanish as their primary language. Shop and practice your Spanish at the same time! Parakeets, "genuine" Gucci belts, complete set of cookware. They also have a large farmer's market with lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. As little or as much as you want!
