Two females in miami alone..

by maryammoore

My cousin and I have met two guys in miami dade county we have been talking to for 3 months. we suppose to go down there soon they are both from Opalaka. What would be a safe hotel to stay in while we are there? Would it be safe just for my cousin and i to travel alone to Miami? Will it be safe for us to go to Opalaka? He just told us not to be to flashy and we cool he also says we have nothing to worry about!! If you know anything about this part of town can u let me know!! We are going to South Beach also would it be safe to probably get a hotel room there?

I think the question you should be asking is how safe is it to meet two guys from the internet, I would assume that's where you met them, the answer is plain and simple, it's not, from your post, you don't seem to be rational thinking adults.

I've a feeling this is a set up or joke but, in case it isn't..."Opalocka" is a is not a very choice part of Miami.
Please let us know your ages? I second that which YVR says about meeting strange men over the internet.

Try to spend some time in this area, full of shops, restaurant, malls and very chic......

Here just a few views of the area from above and the beach......

The best "urban picnic" place

Located in the heart of the Design District, the Rainforest Garden Lounge offers a unique and romantic environment surrounded by flowering bushes and towering bamboos. You can relax on their cushioned couches and tall stools with tables while feeling in the wilderness. The city of Miami offers a variety of art, this architectural masterpiece by Enzo Enea is a copper-color box which finely adds to the style of the surrounding historic Moore building and to the rest of the Miami Design District. At Rainforest Garden Lounge, you can enjoy a refreshing cocktail and the delights of the chefs while feeling in the jungle. This is definitely one of the things to do in Miami.

For MIA-Plantation mapping and driving information go to http://www.miami-airport.com/driving_directions.asp - type your address and get map and driving directions. I'll get on the expressway right at the airport and get off in Plantation, so the drive will be safe.

For additional info about MIA, go to http://www.miami-airport.com/site_map.asp

While in South Beach, keep your eyes open for Papparatzi, he'll snap you by surprise. Just kidding, guys. This gentleman was on photo assignment at SOBE from England. He was on his way to Key West. Bring your camera so you can take a piece of SOBE with you.

First Presbyterian Church

by mikey_e

I haven't been able to find much about this church, despite the fact that it was built in 1898 and that its Spanish Revivalist architecture makes it stand out in a neighbourhood that is otherwise dominated by skyscrapers, office buildings and Latin American consulates. I rather liked the look of the building, with its Mission characteristics (despite being Presbyterian and not Catholic) and the way that the green lawns all around it made it seem more like a plantation than a downtown parish.
