cab to south beach

by buckaroo2

how much would it cost to take a cab from MIA airport to south beach, then to carnival cruise ship the next day.. thanks in advance

Re: cab to south beach

by Agraichen

Ooo...I should remember, but the exact i forget. I know I decieded for the cab instead of renting a car as the cab was supposed to be to/from cheaper than a one day rental from Hertz. I think it was $25 but can't really recall. Perhaps a local will respond.

One more addition.. If you go to So Beach...have lunch at the News Cafe. GREAT place for people watching. When I arrived "someone" was getting into their Ferrari F50 and trying to 'join' traffic while having problems with the clutch...

Travel Tips for Miami Beach

My Friend Leila

by Hexepatty

We took a leisurely stroll up the Beach Road, and down Collins and just enjoyed the people, smells and sights that make up South Beach. At one point we were both hungry and we popped into this restaurant for breakfast.

Packing List

by hayward68

Bring a couple of swimsuits and good walking sandals.

Also dressy clothes for hitting the nightspots, you have to compete with tanned, twentysomethings dressed to kill SUNSCREEN OR SUNBLOCK

I can't stress enough how important it is to wear sunscreen. I'm very fair skinned so bring total sunblock with me. You'll be glad you've got it on after wandering around all day. And don't forget to put it on the tops of your feet and in the part of your hair. I'm always forgetting my scalp and I always burn it. If you've got a beach umbrella and are able to bring it, it's a good idea. That way you at least have some shade to get out of the burning sun.

Real Estate in Miami Beach:

10 Reasons to buy Real Estate in Miami Beach: 3. We live in the liveliest place in Florida. Miami Beach draws new residents from surrounding areas such as Coral Gables, Palm Beach and Boca Raton where there is little to do but grow old.

THE dive bar

by vanessadb about Club Deuce

Dive: (Slang). A disreputable entertainment establishment (Merriam-Webster)

If you had but one evening to see all of Miami Beach's multitudinous eccentricities encapsulated, you might well spend it here. Eclectic is too tame a word to describe the mix of South Beach denizens in this joint every night. From transsexual hookers to nightclub glitterati to down-and-out locals to visiting celebs, the Deuce attracts the funkiest, coolest, scariest crowd of any bar in south Florida.

As someone once put it: "This is the only place where you can sit at the bar with Cameron Diaz, Matt Dillon, a prostitute, a pimp, and a tattoo artist at the same time."

A dive bar at its best! Come as you are!

Hail a Cab

Miami Beach is a relatively compact and flat area, which is best explored and enjoyed walking. Despite that, taxis are a very convenient transportation way, mainly because of the scarcity of parking areas and the unreliable (may I say inexistent?) public transport….

Taxis fares are not prohibitive and there are plenty of them. Enjoy your ride! ;-)
