Homelessness
by Anubian
Homelessness is a way of life in Miami Beach. There are many people without. It is easy to get caught up in the glam of Miami Beach, but don't forget the reality. There are many people starving, and they are used to tourist treating them as pesks, although some can try your nerve. So don't get caught up in the hype. Remember to give when you can, when you feel it will do some good.
Take a walk along Espanola Way
by Weener
Espanola Way at night for the Mediterranean feel. Mediterranean architecture and restaurants are beautifully lit by fairy lights. Al fresco dining. During the day time, there is a cute little market at the weekends selling local arts and crafts.
For some authentic café cubano
by bliss7
This place isn't so much "off the beaten path" as "on a main drag but hardly noticed." It's not fancy, it's authentic. If you want a real cuban coffee, go to El Restaurante Viajante. The place is the real deal. For any coffee lover out there - this is the place for you! You can get a small cup for $1.25 or a larger cup for $2.00. And to make it even more authentic, order in Spanish! "Quería un café cubano, por favor." If you want it with milk, ask for a "cafe cubano con leche." (You do not have to order in Spanish, but it is fun!)
This place is directly across the street from the Delano. Order through the window. It is open 24 hours. The empañadas are pretty good too, for a late night snack.
Exclusive shops in a great ambiance
by Dutchnatasja about Bal Harbour Shops
Bal Harbour Shops has beautiful outdoor gardens, fountains, and art, surrounded by very high-end shopping, cafes, and restaurants. There are world-class designer boutiques including Hermes, Cartier, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Armani, Gucci, Versace, Tiffany, Van Cleef & Arpels, and more. Don’t look for anything as common as a kids play land or a food court. This place is way too chic for that. I, personally, like this place very much, because of the beauty of this place.
If you want to spend money, well, than you are at the right place. Have fun!
Bal Harbour Shops is open :
Monday - Saturday 10AM - 9PM
Sunday: Mall Stores 12PM - 6PM
Neiman Marcus & Saks Fifth Avenue 12PM - 7PM
Segafredo's terrace
by agarcia about Segafredo Expresso
Don’t be mistaken by the name; this place is not a café, it’s a fashionable terrace in the heart of Lincoln Road. I’ll recommend a couple of glasses of chianti while enjoying the romantic atmosphere of the terrace, but don’t sit yourself to close to the Fontana di Trevi replica… it’s unpleasantly cold sometimes ;-) The best way in wich to get a good service is by looking like if you were a music or tv producer. The impact is greater if you get to the place in the company of a lovely and gorgeous lady… at least, it worked for me :-p
