Bus from Miami International to South Beach

by grNutritionista

Does anyone know approximately how long the city bus ride is from the airport to south beach?

According to this November newspaper article, this new bus takes about 30 minutes:

Metrobuses depart from the Ground Level, across from Concourse E.

Metrobuses Departing from Miami International Airport - what I see on the internet is

* To South Beach: “J” Bus, then transfer to Southbound “H” Bus at 41st Street, but it looks to me like the M bus would be better.

Taking public transportation from Miami International Airport is a very slow, but very cheap option. Make sure that you know exactly what Metrobuses to take and when and where to catch them. You don't want to wander the streets seeking one, especially at night. Fares are $1.50, and transfers are .50 cents. Exact change is required.

The Metrobus Luggage Policy states that "no more than two pieces of luggage are allowed. Passengers with luggage must sit in the rear of the bus.”

The J bus schedule is that it takes about an hour from one end to the other, so I would allow two hours.

Travel Tips for Miami Beach

Flyers Flyers everywhere!!!

by HotSpotJ

Of course, for me, one of my favorite things about South Beach are all of the places I can go find trouble in. As a single guy who likes to dress nice and mix good drinks, South Beach and Vegas are my two favorite spots for getting myself into the fun zone. One cool thing about South Beach is that while you walk on Ocean, people working as street promoters will be handing out flyers to that nights party, so if its your first time there, you'll learn alot about whats going on without having to ask. Now, not all of the venues you'll see will be the place to be, the best places and the most popular spots amongst locals changes every given week, so, you'll have to ask a waiter or your hotel workers or people you meet out where the A-list parties will be, but these flyers sometimes have good places to stop in and check out- especially if you're into hip-hop music My fondest memories of partying in South Beach involve VIP seating at the Mansion, two Russian girls, the Delano pool, and a walk down Ocean, back to my hotel, at sunrise. Perhaps, even in that order :)

The Greater Miami area can be seen in this spectacular south-looking view. Near the center of the image, the runways of Miami International Airport are discernible. East of the airport across Biscayne Bay, the city of Miami Beach is visible. Directly south of Miami Beach is the island of Key Biscayne. The far eastern portions of the Everglades are discernible to the west of Miami. The Miami area is one of the most popular and famous resort regions in the United States. Near the upper right portion of the image, the city of Homestead can be seen..

Miami Beach is South Floridas most historic and popular vacation spot. The Miami Beach real estate market is among the most active in the United States. The revival of Florida's premier oceanfront location has sparked unparralled real estate appreciation and Miami condo sales which continues as buidling locations are quickly running out.

Lazy Days of Shopping

by HotSpotJ about Lincoln Road Mall

One of my favorite things to do in South Beach is to spend a lazy afternoon shopping in Lincoln Road Mall. They have a number of interesting shops in here, some good cafes, and its also a great place to people watch as well. Again, like the rest of South Beach, this is not a place for those on a budget. Shop around, take in lunch or an early dinner at a cafe, or justenjoy the relaxation of the many fountains through the centert of this open air mall. They have many shops here, my favorite is one of the main art and sculpture shops, I'm not sure of its name, but its on the North side of the Lincoln mall about 2 blocks in and it has some amazing sculptures and statues as well as some nice canvas art.
