I use to organize our travel on my own. In this case I infringed my rule and I accepted the proposal of a French travel agency (Nouvelles Frontieres). I already had several concerns in the past with this tour operator but I am not a person who holds grudges.
First, they suggested a hotel near the Art Deco District and just one month prior the departure they asked to say there is no room in the chosen hotel and they proposed an other hotel at the same price. It was too late to search an other accomodation.
The clerk said you must be happy the level of the accomodation has a higher level and it is located in the same street (Collins Avenue). She did not know the avenue is very long and the distance between the two locations was more than 10 miles (50 min by bus).
To say the truth I must confess the amenities of the hotel were better than the initial one and it had a direct access to the Ocean.
Unique Quality: Large room with two double beds. Clean and comfortable at the 16th floor.
Balcony with an Ocean view (avoid the South side because there is a construction site in this direction)
Bath room with complimentary toileteries. Tub and shower. Hairdryer
TV with Premium TV channel
Iron, iron board
Fridge, microwave and coffee maker (it exists also rooms with full kitchen : sink, stove top, dishwasher) : there was a supermarket (Milam's market) on the opposite side of the avenue.
Paying Breakfast but the Rascal House in front is cheaper
Outdoor pool with a kid access
Complimentary newspaper
Paying valet parking
Ten minutes from the Aventura Mall by bus.
Directions: Arriving from the airport take the 41th street, left on Collins and drive 9 miles.
