The ever changing scene and philandering crowd
by goingsolo
Miami Beach is known for its nightlife. But keep in mind that Miami Beach nightlife is defined by the in places to go, which change every few months. Some places are institutions and will always draw crowds, but that's rare. Most places have their time in the spotlight when hordes of people line up outside and then without warning are practically shut down as the crowd ventures elsewhere.
If you interested in the bar/club scene, make sure you check into where to go right before you visit Miami, to find out what are the latest hot spots. Pick up a copy of the Miami New Times or feel free to email me with any questions and I'll do my best to answer them! Have espresso at News Cafe until 6 am and then watching the sun rise on the beach.

Not a cultural tip, just a tip.
For local guides of whats on where, pick up the free 'Street Miami' and 'Miami New Times' newspapers out every Thursday from dispense units on the street pavements and most hotels/hostels. They tell you places to eat, special offers, restaurant reviews and club listings.
For up to date celebrity gossip, and information on THE places to be seen in SoBe (South Beach), pick up a free copy of the 'Ocean Drive' magazine, available at some hotels.
For club and bar information and listings, get the free pocket sized 'egotrip' magazine, small but very useful. Available at hotels, hostels and restaurants.
Botanic break
by agarcia
If you get tired of Art Deco architecture, or interminable sun baths in the beach, a good alternative is a visit to the Miami Beach Botanical Garden. Placed near the Convention Center and the Holocaust monument, the garden it’s a peaceful and relaxing place, that hides some interesting surprises, such as the Japanese garden. Admission it’s free.

Trendy terrace
by vanessadb about Segafredo's
Segafredo's is a trendy terrace on Lincoln Road. It's a mix and match of bistro tables and chairs, sofas, and comfy old armchairs. It's a great place to people watch as they all walk up and down Lincoln Road. It's also a great place to come for Happy Hour or to have pre or post dinner drinks. They have a wide variety of cocktails and cute waiters for you single girls out there. As for you boys, do not worry as you'll flind plenty of single good-looking girls sitting around you.
I'ts open afternoon and evenings but the terrace gets at its best at nights. The place gets packed at around 7pm, as all the people working in the area come for happy hour.
Note: To ask for a table you need to go up to the cute hostess.
Negative points: there is only 1 unisex bathroom for the entire terrace inside Segafredo's; as you are therefore doomed to wait in line, don't wait till the last minute ;-) It's very trendy so you want look good but yet as you did not work too hard on it!
