Doggie Bags
by Gypsystravels
Miami Beach like many other cities throughout the country has become such a dog friendly city that everywhere you look you'll can find these stands with the disposible doggie bags to help you clean up after your pooch.
One thing I noticed though was that this particular dispenser was all out of baggies..
Miami Ink
by HotSpotJ
Miami Ink is located at 1344 Washington Ave, across the street from most of the clubs, and was made extremely popular by a cable televsion show focusing on the specific customer requests and the artists who fulfill them. I was told by people I met in Miami that, because of the increased popularity, it is hard to get a tattoo here, so you might want to call ahead and make an appointment.
See Miami from the water
by vanessadb
As you all know, Miami is built by the Ocean. But unless you have been here, you might not know that it has a beautiful bay, rivers and canals. Seeing Miami from the water, on a boat is truly different and beautiful, with its many islands, mansions, skyline, etc...
In order to do this, you have several options:
1. knowing someone who owns a boat and who will take you around. Obvioulsy the best way but also the most difficult one...
2. Renting a boat at one of the many marinas (South Beach, Coconut Grove, etc..) but it is expensive and it requires you to know how to drive a boat (even if the only requirement is a regular driver's license... no comment!!!!) and last but not least find your way around.
3. Last option and obvioulsy the least interesting one, taking one of those tourist boat rides that leave Bayside....
Tobacco Road
by vanessadb about Tobacco Road
Not only is it the oldest bar in Miami, but it is the only laid-back local bar with good live music open every night till 5am. Plus, they serve food till 2am which is always a good thing after one too many drinks... Very casual, even though you will always find at least one man in his work suit (there since happy hour) and one woman in a fancy evening alpheit (don't ask me). So, in conclusion, I guess you can wear whatever you are in the mood for!
Authentic Latin hang-out
by vanessadb about Hoy Como Ayer
Hoy Como Ayer is the 'bar' that replaced the renown Cafe Nostalgia in Little Havana. For those of you into the Latin thing, it's a great place to go to whether you are in the mood for hot salsa and Latin music dancing (on Thursdays especially called 'Fuacata! night) or for live Latin music (pop, rock, jazz, etc...)
It's mostly frequented by Miami born Cubans and Latin Americans in general and you definitely won't find any tourists! Latin American people, especially women, tend to dress up and look good and sexy so try to do the same =)
As for men (lucky you) you don't need to put those many efforts, jean and a T-shirt or a shirt will do just fine!
