Nice hotel on the beach

This hotel is located right on the beach, on walking distance from Ocean Drive. The Holiday Inn 3-Star Oceanfront Hotel offers complimentary self-parking, kids meals, local calls, incoming faxes, beachside chairs, and umbrellas. Hotel facilities include a small pool surrounded by a spacious pool deck, two tennis courts, a small fitness room, and a video-game room. It’s a nice hotel; the only negative thing is that the rooms have no balconies

Unique Quality: The location, right on the beach. Renovated not so long ago. Complimentary Parking!

get your money worth..

Well we had our share of hotels in Miami, started with Ocean Surf, Days Inn, Ramada Maxine and so on...

We didn't expect to find a moderatly priced hotel in or near the heart of Miami Beach with good long beds, enough waterpresure to be able to shower and not being surprised with the extra price of parking costs up to $ 20,00

But against all odds we found it in this hotel...

We have now stayed here for the second time in a row and the hotel still has all the extras.

Unique Quality: Bed is good, room is larger then most hotel, water pressure is ok, parking is included in the room rate, you get free beach chairs and the price is really moderate compared to other Miami Beach hotels....

Breakfast was just ok....not more no less.....dinerware could be cleaner, service could be better (and it isn't included in the price).

If no one can give us a beter placed or priced hotel we will make this hotel our home base when we go to Miami so....please let us no if you think there are more pleasant hotels then this one ......

We paid 89.94 USD*, per night plus tax**, per room.

Because we had a Priority Club membership late checkout till 2'o clock was allowed.

cheeper (maybe) by the beach

Not too many stories I have about this accommodation. It's on the beach and very convenient access to the mid town street behind. Kinda "OK".

Disappointing

by TripAdvisor Member holtspa

We took an elderly parent to Miami Beach for a couple of days, and booked two ocean-view rooms here. They were not cheap, but less exhorbitant than some of the alternatives closer to South Beach. Contrary to the web-site, the rooms were not newly decorated, and the climate control was primitive and noisy - indeed throughout our stay there was an unpleasant whine in the room. On the plus side they were large and otherwise comfotable. The only parking available was of the 'valet' variety, which managed to scratch and dent the hire-car. The area is pretty devoid of other places to eat, which meant that we had to wait for our car to be retrieved or use a taxi if we wanted to venture out - and you would not want to eat in the hotel. The pools seemed to be shared with the Four Points next door and were fine, and the beach and boardwalk outside were fabulous. The lifts are still not working properly, and there were several long waits..The attitude of the staff was not great, and the overall experience was disappointing - there must be better options around.

Clean and convenient

by TripAdvisor Member Warmwaterdivers

We stayed at this Holiday Inn for 5 days in March and were definitely pleased with our choice. The room was very clean, the service was good, the grounds were clean, and the location was excellent. On Saturday there was live music and it was heaven to lay in a hammock near the pool in the shade enjoying to warm breezes.

The only downside to the hotel were the elevators which could only carry 6 passengers at a time and were often very slow. There were repairmen there one day fixing a problem and they told me the elevators were due to be replaced, with the first one being replaced in May. Hopefully that's true since the old elevators were the only downside to our stay.

Can't Beat The Proximity To The Beach

by TripAdvisor Member mff68r

I cashed in some Holiday Inn points. I travel frequently for business so I stay in a lot of hotels. The rooms were on the small-side, but were clean and more than adequate. Although other reviews complained about the elevators, I did not experience long wait times. The pool area is nice and the beach is right in the backyard of the hotel. You really can't beat this hotel if you're looking to sit on the beach or by the pool. The strip where the hotel is located is under construction so there are few restaurants within walking distance; a rental car is a must. I would definitely stay here again!!

Fine for a 3 star hotel, but need to do something with the elevators

by TripAdvisor Member glukos

I had a nice stay at this hotel. It is nicely located, you can just walk out of the hotel and you are on miami beach. They also have a lovely swimming pool.
The reception staff are very good, efficient and friendly. The rooms are clean, with lovely pillows ,and HUGE beds., A bit unusual with the sink outside the bathroom, but was practical.

What brings this hotel down is the elevators. I suggest if you stay at this hotel ask for a room om the 4th floor (3rd fllor is entrace reception because then you can take the stairs. ANd then its fine.

The elvators take only 6 people and are VERY slow, everytime before it opens my heart beats and I am scared I am stuck, it did actually get stuck one of the elevators while I was there, but luckily I wasnt in it. Also the waiting time to get the elevator is VERY long. So stay in the low floors so you can use the stairs.

We also booked a trip to the sea aquraium through the concirege and that worked out fine.

The restaurant need improvements. It lacks atmosphere, the food takes long ( they did inform us it would) and the half an hour it took to get the food they came by our table 5 times!! to ask is everything is ok. ( let us get the food first) The staff are freindly, but they should do something about the restaurant. I mean when the hotel is full and there are only 2 tables occupied for dinner should say something. You eat there once. The food was fine. The aircondition was too cold.

All in all did have a nice time at this hotel, and if they fix their elevators and improve their restaurant it could be very good.

Good value, clean hotel

by TripAdvisor Member cardiffian

8 of us booked in for 2 nights and had no problems at all. Location very good - a bit of a distance to Ocean Drive but taxi's readily available. Hotel rooms were of a good standard, very clean with large comfortable bed and pillows. The reception staff were excellent, pool area very good and nice and a small bar area just off reception (good mojotos) Parking was $15 per day. We did have an evening meal in the hotel which was poor and definately not recommended (our own fault as we should of gone out) Would definately stay here again

"The bed...."

We stayed at the 12th floor, and could see the Miami beach and sea from our room...the bed is good.

"Bath room"

Has the basic isn't large but also not the smallest we had during our winter trip of 2004.

"Room.."

Enough space to move around...

"View from our room..."

Ok you have to look to the right and through windows that could use some cleaning but then you really can see Miami Beaches....

"Hotel Garden"

Surrounded by the hotel there is a garden with tropical trees and plants....

"Hotel"

Seen from the Garden...

"Behind the hotel"

Is a boardwalk along the beach....

"Swimming pool"

A early morning look at the swimming pool...
