Downtown Miami! A view from our Apt!
by Hexepatty
One of the features that sets Miami apart from other big cities is the way it integrates itself with the water. To witness this, look no further than the downtown waterfront area. It is pretty, day or night, and if you have a view of it from S Beach, you are BLESSED!
Scuba Diving in South Florida
by agarcia
South Beach Divers offers diving and snorkeling excursions to Key Largo almost daily. Check their schedule web page for further information. They are probably the best choice if you want to practice diving during your visit. Diving equipment could be rented at their shop. Just remember to bring your diving license!

Yesterday Sunday , March 9 we went to the Calle Ocho Festival. There where about a million people at this famous once a year Cuban street festival . Lots of food, music, and beer and rum. This is one of my favorite events in this great city.
Frozen Drink Mecca of South Beach
by jackfruit about Wet Willie's
Famous for its strong alcoholic frozen drinks, Wet Willie's is always packed. Go upstairs to the bar area and ask to taste some of the 25 or so drinks that are displayed behind the bar.
After an "Attitude Adjustment", I decided to "Call a Cab", because I was about done.
You have to check out this place just for the kick you get from the drink names!
There is also a rooftop standing-room-only area with a great view over Ocean Drive and the night scene below. Casual
Getting around South Beach
by chrissyalex
If you plan to just stay in South Beach, you really don't need any transportation at all, you can walk everywhere. The main area is only about a mile long.
However,if you have a lazy moment or it is raining , there is a bus( I believe if it called the Electricwave.but I am not 100% sure of the name) that will get you around South Beach for only a 25 cents. I was thinking of trying it out once just to see what it was like, but never got around to it. Besides just walking around South Beach is kind of fun!
I took the bus into the city of Miami a few times. Bus C and Bus K will take you to Bayside Marketplace and also to downtown. They run about every 15 minutes. The cost is $1.25 . If you would like to visit Villa Vizcaya and /or Coconut Grove ,take Bus C or Bus K and buy a 25 cent transfer., Get off at the Downtown bus station and transfer to bus 48. The only bad thing is that Bus 48 only runs about every hour, so you may have a wait.
