good new hotel
by margaretvn about Super 8
We decided to stay in Boone because we had had bad weather with 70 mile-winds on the day we had planned on going to Grandfather Mountain. The hotel in on the main road through Boone
The hotel is new and we had a great room on the fourth floor.
There was a very good continent breakfast with lots of choice.
The room we had was one with a door to the adjoining room. That night there were 2 men in that room, they arrived just after 10 in the evening. Straight away the television went on loudly and then they sat talking. One of the men had a voice like a fog horn we could clearly hear every word that was said. After listening unwillingly for almost an hour I phoned the lobby and asked if they could phone and ask if they would be quieter. The man at the lobby was so friendly and he phoned and it was immediately quick.

Hotel question
by TubbySmith
Has anyone used orbitz to book a hotel recently? Just got an email about them guaranteeing the lowest price or refunding the difference. Just wondering if anyone had used it. thanks

Thanks for your reply giampiero6 but I was more wondering about their new hotel guarantee. I've used orbitz for flights before and been happy, but just wanted to know if anyone has had experience with this new hotel thing. Thanks.
San-fran-yosemite-lasvegas

Hi as you can gather from the title of this mail, a few of us are planning to travel san fran - yosemite and las vegas for 2 weeks in Sept.
We're on a budget and were thinking of staying in the Shara in Las vegas. What is this like?
Accomodation in San Fran is expensive can anyone recommend somewhere reasonable although I wouldn't risk safety?
Dont' know where to stay in Yosemite, or how long to stay for or whether to drive through death valley to Las vegas, it's difficult to get concise info.
Can anyone advise please
Thanks
Grace

The Shara is on the far end of the strip and pretty far walk to the big vegas attractions but a a hotel goes it is as good as the next . If you want to be more central on the strip maybe check out Excalabur or treasure Island

WHEN IN VEGAS...
I would suggest you avoid the sahara.
If you are on a budget you might be better off trying the Excaliber because it is nice but right in the action, but if it is out of your range you might want to stay at the Stratosphere.. the hotel with the huge tower and a rollercoaster on top. This is at the end of the strip but the rooms are nice and if you're in the new hotel tower your room will be.... hmm NEW!!!
If you visit Vegas.com you can see pics of rooms and check prices of all hotels there. You can see videos about the attractions and lots of pics etc..
I would listen to Palo Verde's advice.... She's pretty smart for a baby
Good Luck.. I hope you have a fantastic time in the American West!!!
