The Clay Hotel And Hostel

by 75Antonio

hi! Does anyone knows the official web page to make reservations in this hostel or are there similar options nearby?

Re: The Clay Hotel And Hostel

by NaplesJim

The Clay is very cute, and has great restaurants below it,it overlooks Esplanade way, but it is 3-4 blocks from the beach. Check out motels on collins ave below 1400. They s/b just as cheap. Remember in sobe you get what you pay for or even less. Be careful with hotels/motels, I just had a bad time with the Econolodge(Henrosa). Ocean Dr is wonderful in the evening.

Travel Tips for Miami Beach

Say hello to Gaetano the Cuban...

by pulgaron

Say hello to Gaetano the Cuban lifeguard at the 10th Street lifeguard station. By the way ladies, you can now go legally topless at South Beach, so do your part to beautify the beach. We will appreciate it.

Too many to list

by HotSpotJ

Lummus park is great for rollerblading and jogging, as is the beach in the morning. If you're into watching sports, then the Miami Heat play in Bayside, a mere $12-$15 cab ride away. The Miami Dolphins play a bit further North, and you'll have to plan that one out if you stay here without personal use of a car.

Lincoln Road

by GUYON

It is located between the 17th and the 16th streets.
Lincoln Road is a pedestrian street with shops and restaurant. A mall is in the West side of the street.
With Ocean Drive it is the plaƩce to go at night.

Cocktails & shrimp

by universalgypsy about Doraku

Doraku is ( as the name sounds) a Sushi place that also boasts a weekly happy hour! Ok, nearly every place on South beach has some kind of Happy hour, but this place does a two-for-one-drink kind of happy hour. The sour apple martinis are a dream and shortly before the happy hour was over the waitress actually came over to promt us to get more drinks before the time was up - now that is what I call service!!
I don't like Sushi, so cannot comment on that kind of food , but they had some Shrimp dishes that were absolutely amazing. smart casual

Transport to/from Miami International Airport

by sue_stone

Upon arrival in Miami, the two main ways to travel to your hotel is by taxi or shuttle service. Outside the arrivals hall you can pick up a taxi , and there was certainly a large number of them available when we arrived. There are flat rates depending on which part of Miami you are heading to - there was a large sticker on the window outlining the regions and rates. It was 32 USD (plus tip) for us to go to South Beach.

Many of the hotels also have airport shuttles, and you should be able to arrange for these in advance of your trip.

There is also a shared SuperShuttle service that you can pre-book, which costs around 15 USD per person and will drop you at your hotel.

I have also read about a free-shuttle bus that links up with the tri-rail station. From there you go a couple of stops and then get another train and I think a bus....I'd stick with a taxi if I were you!
