In 1882-83 a two-story wooden hotel known as the Alexander House was built on this site as a small getaway for fishing, birding and snake huntingIn 1895 it changed the name to the Lake House until 1903 and was was totally rebuilt in 1930. Two US presidents wintered here regularly.
Its a great place to sit in a rocker on its HUGE fron porch and watch the sunset. The Sunday brunch is a local favorite!
