Peacefull Sunset Island
by Michael_D
Past the eagles nests, past the vultures, past the alligators, birds, lizards and turtles basking in the sun you come to Lake Dora where the walkway juts out into the water. This is a shot looking back toward the marina and the shoreline.
Lakeside Inn
by Michael_D
In 1882-83 a two-story wooden hotel known as the Alexander House was built on this site as a small getaway for fishing, birding and snake hunting
In 1895 it changed the name to the Lake House until 1903 and was was totally rebuilt in 1930. Two US presidents wintered here regularly.
Its a great place to sit in a rocker on its HUGE fron porch and watch the sunset. The Sunday brunch is a local favorite!
Icehouse Theater
by Michael_D
This is where I started, at the ICEHOUSE THEATER in Mt Dora Florida. Twelve theaters and 51 plays later it is still dear to my heart.
BEING A PERFORMER at the Icehouse has afforded me the opportunity to perfect my art. and in turn to see many different countries.
The quality level here is excellent and ticket prices affordable. Click on the website below to see what is playing now.

"MOUNT DORA"
Sunday January 14, 2007
Hans and I, along with his brother and his wife, spent the afternoon in the quaint New England style village of MOUNT DORA. Its a lovely place with its outdoor restaurants, cafe's, antique shops, art galleries and romantic B & B's.
We strolled through town and had waffle cone ice creams.
On the day before, we went on a boat ride through the Dead River, which branches out of Lake Dora. Here we saw wonderful birds. I made travelogues of the birds that we saw there.

"QUAINT NEW ENGLAND STYLE VILLAGE"
In this travelogue, I will highlight some of the sites of Mount Dora. It is a very touristy little town and since it is located on Lake Dora, many boaters tie up at the Marina there and stroll through town and enjoy the sites there.
