More about Best Western Naples Inn & Suites
A place to return to
Relative to the price charged : you get a very decent deal here. Nice, clean room, smallish bathroom, beautiful garden and pool area, easy access, near restaurants and shopping center. You can check your e-mails in the small lobby on two computers which is precious. Free breakfast (with much more than the usual muffins with coffee), local calls, easy parking and video library available to guests.
We have visited Florida for 15 years consecutive. This will always be included in all our future trips there. Congratulations to the owners/managers.
A great experience from beginng to end
I spent a week here in February 2006 with my wife and child and we really enjoyed it. From the moment you first drive up, you get a great vibe from the lush, tropical landscaping surrounding the property and its two large outdoor pools and spas.
The one bedroom with full kitchen and living room unit we stayed in was a very pleasant surprise for the money. The unit was quite spacious and had a large screened balcony with access from the living room and separate bedroom which is handy when your child is sleeping. While the room's decor could probably stand to be updated a little bit, it was spotlessly clean and very comfortable and well equipped. The house-keeping did a fabulous job every day of making sure the room was immaculate. During our stay, the hotel was in the process of updating the rooms, for example the brand new large wide-screen HDTV we enjoyed in our room. I have stayed in many hotels and this is by far the nicest TV I have ever seen in any hotel room at any price. We also noticed the furniture in the rooms was in the process of being replaced with some very nice, new furniture.
The location is convenient and area is beautiful. It is less than 5 minutes drive from the beach and there is plenty of shopping (and Publix groceries) within walking distance.
Best of all, this hotel doesn't nickel and dime you for every little thing like some hotels do these days (which gets to be really annoying and costly at check-out). For example: Parking, internet, pool-side breakfast are all included.
So, if you are looking for a decent, comfortable hotel in Naples without spending an arm and a leg, consider this Best Western.
Very pleasant hotel
Stayed from 14th February for 4 nights and was very pleased with this hotel.
At this time of the year room rates are high and hotels are full so advance booking is needed or you will be forced to look on the outskirts of Naples or pay $250 plus for a room on US 41 at a walk in rate.
My ground floor poolside room booked through Best Western faced a pleasant tropical garden setting surrounding a pool and breakfast bar area.
A word of warning about those pesky ducks that roam freely, watch out as they are sneaky and take your breakfast from the low tables. Find a high table or move to the second less crowded pool.
The room furniture was looking a little dated and the suites in the adjacent block were in the process of having new furniture and televisions installed. The sliding patio door didn't slide and this same fault applied to other rooms. However these faults did not detract from the overall facilities of the hotel.
Reception staff were helpful and multi lingual and there are two free "slooooow" internet accessible computers in reception for 15 minutes intervals. Better internet access is available for free at the excellent library not far away in Centre Avenue.
For meals there is the upmarket Chardonney Restaurant on site or numerous restaurants on US 41 a busy 6 lane highway on which most hotels are located.
For under $10 try Mel's Diner on US 41 for a 1950's experience.
Did not disappoint 10 yrs on !
Returned to this motel for 2 nights in Feb '05 after originally staying here on our honeymoon in Nov 1994.
Had a ground floor suite (once again), which was as clean & well-equipped as on our previous visit. Our son couldn't believe the size of the kingsize bed in the main sleeping area! Plus the fact we had 2 tv's, a video player, v well equipped kitchen area.
The bathroom was spotless, plus "still" the fluffiest towels in Florida !
Free internet access is a really good bonus, plus the grounds are still so well landscaped/attractive.
The staff were as friendly/helpful as we remembered, &, altho' the decor hadn't changed at all from our last visit (so a bit dated) we were not disappointed.
Will definately return (hopefully won't leave it so long for the next time) .......
Please don't tell them they are way under priced!
The best family hotel in Naples for those of you who don't want to(or can't) pay the normal Naples prices. I brought my wife and two young daughters with me to Naples for a business trip. I normally stay in a Marriott, but the prices in Naples were crazy (since I was paying for the room past the the two nights for biz).
The rooms are very clean, but small. The bathroom is very clean, but tiny. So don't go there to stay in your room all day. The hotel grounds are fantastic. They reminded me of the $400.00 a night rooms at the Marriott in Maui. Lush, tropical and fun. They have a putting course, Koi ponds and two great pools.
The breakfast in the morning is very good even though there are no "cooked" items (eggs, sausage, pancakes).
I would highly recommend this for a family, but I would probably stay there again for biz because they do have a Cat5 (high speed Internet) hookup in each room.
There is a great Mexican place directly across the street and a very, very good Thai place maybe 200ft north and across the street call Thai Basil. Order the red curry duck, even the girls loved it!
My wife said the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable, and had nothing but good things to say about them.
FYI, DO NOT stay at the BW in Bal Harbour (Seaside) in N. Miami. It was a total hole.
We stayed here for 3 nights the end of March and this hotel was great! Very clean room and surroundings! Very nice rooms! We were suprisingly shocked there was a computer to use - right in the room! My son loved that! Great location - walking to mall, many restaurants, grocery and drug store. Pool and hot tub were great! Very nice to have 2 different pool areas for a smaller hotel. Will definately stay there the next time in Naples - hopefully next spring - if not sooner!
One Night Was Enough!
Having stayed in Cape Coral, Orlando and St Pete's, we needed somewhere for a quick overnight stay nearer to Miami before coming home. We didn't expect the earth for £110, and it was only for a night, but I must agree with the Dec 2004 reviewer, this just has the general feel and appearance of an outdated motel, and I certainly would not want to stay any longer than a single night, especially having been spoiled at other locations.
Rooms are adequate at best, although facilities that might cost extra at other hotels are all included in your room. Room safe, kitchen facilities, balcony, internet access and in room video player (films free). But it still had that dated motel feel about it, including suspended tiled ceiling and very small bathroom, room also very small if containing any more than one bed.
Our biggest gripe, and the one which caused us to leave this review, were the breakfast arrangements. Nothing appears to have changed since the Dec 2004 reviewer stayed here. Breakfast is around the pool, what the plan is when it's raining is unclear, but luckily we had good weather. But with what must be 40 rooms/suites to accommodate, why only 6 or so tables. The quality of the continental breakfast (and that's all) is abismal, horrible orange juice, packet everything, very cramped service area (there is no service by the way) and just about everything do-it yourself. But where do you sit? I'm not keen on eating breakfast from a sun lounger, or sat on the concrete round the pool, but many others did.
This place needs bringing into the 21st century, and if we had been planning anything more than a single night stay we would certainly have moved somewhere else. Why can we stay at the Vinoy on St Pete's harbour for £150 per night, when this place is £110. There is no comparison in either surroundings, staff service, food or just about anything else. Add this to the fact that it is right on the main road and your stay is just about complete.
We will not be coming back here, ever!
A very pleasant stay
stayed here 28 Dec 05 thru Jan 5 06.
very clean rooms
close to the beach---10 min walk
beautiful grounds,well maintained
we will definitely return!
Our quest for a birding photo trip
"Big cypress swamp"
With the onslaught of a bitter winter in Minneapolis we just realy couldn't wait to get away to some better climes this Thanksgiving vacation. Since AJ had gotten his new nikon D 7000 a birding trip was long due and this seemed like a perfect opportunity to kill two birds with one stone. So began vacation Florida and it was a wonderful getaway!
We landed in Orlando and drove down 3 hours to check into Best Western, Naples. Being adjacent to the Everglades was the draw for us to head to Naples. Baited by promises of alligators and birdlife we couldn't wait for tomorrow! 30 miles away was the Big Cypress national Park and we could wait to get there
Day 1 in Florida began with a quaint continental breakfast at the hotel as we munched on some croissant and danishes by the pool. the weather was perfect at 78 F and clouds glided past us at the pool. We were hoping for a little sunshine so bird/gator spotting could be easy. Our first destination was the mangroves in the Big Cypress Swamp. The freshwaters of the Big Cypress Swamp, essential to the health of the neighboring Everglades, support the rich marine estuaries along Florida’s southwest coast. Protecting over 720,000 acres of this vast swamp, Big Cypress National Preserve contains a mixture of tropical and temperate plant communities that are home to a diversity of wildlife including gators, storks and many different herons
"Birds and more"
We stopped at the visitor center and took a boat trip into the mangroves. It was a memorable experience as the guide was from the area and tols us very many facts that we weren't aware of. As I was busy shooting a white egret (or so I thought) he told me this was a juvenile blue heron!! The neon green legs were a dead give away and apparently egrets all had only black legs!!
We saw bald eagles, ospreys, river terns, pelicans, kestrels and herons! All in all it was for us a half day well spent and I couldn't have asked for more! The mangroves itself was second largest to only the mangroves in Bangladesh. It was a thriving reservior of flora and fauna and the sight of these birds which seemed in no hurry at all made me feel so much calmer and in control of my own life! The patience a heron had in catching a single fish was amazing! As they stood perfectly still and caught the fish in a single swoop I realized they had mastered the art of waiting for the perfect moment and making the best of the opportunity they had! A lesson well learnt for someone who has been trying to desperately understand this mad service oriented IT world that I have gotten into!! :D
"HP Williams Park and the beaches"
Well tipped at the mangroves we headed to the Gator alley in HP Wiliams park- a 22 mile stretch along a little stream that was so full of fish that anhingas, herons and gators gathered here in huge numbers. We spent well over 4 hours shooting these animals!!
Needless to say the remainder of our stay in Naples was spent hopping between the Everglades and the beaches around Naples. Our favorite beach was the Barefoot Bonita Beach, when we visited at 7 AM we had the beach all to ourselves up until almost 11! There are tons of residential apartments almost on the beach, we couldn't help wonder at how lucky these folks were to have this for a back drop! :)
