Not to be confused with the chain restaurant
The Outback is a steak and seafood restaurant located in the Wyndham Buena Vista Palace. It is not part of the Outback Steakhouse chain. The steaks are great and the prime rib is awesome. Prime rib

Hotel was clean and well kept. Has an Outback Restaurant in house which is nice if you like Outback. Hard to get around if you don't have a car, only Downtown Disney is within walking distance. The Concierge service was very unknowledgeable, couldn't give ballpark taxi rates or distances, pretty much useless. The restaurant breakfast, continental style was good but the first day I purchased the full breakfast and it was cold. OK for business travel but tourists can do better.
Unique Quality: In house Spa may be nice but didn't use.
Was in a conference in 2002. It was a big and clean place, my friend found a cocroach in his room.
There were two pools and lots of grassfields and plants and trees. And a small river.
Near the attractions.
Unique Quality: High class restaurants.
The Wyndham is a first-class hotel with great services and amenities. But these come with a price! In addition to the high-end cost of the rooms, you will also pay equivalently for any meals that you wish to partake of. In my case, since I no longer had a rental car, you are also somewhat trapped if you just want to wander around the local area. Within easy walking distance is the Downtown Disney tourist area, but be prepared to walk for a half-hour just to reach the nearest normal shopping area. Then you have to get back!
Unique Quality: No question that the Wynham has great facilities - a Recreation Island with tennis courts and also a nice swimming area. Of course the possibilities at the Spa are too numerous to list here! Note that I say 'Satisfied' below because I was not paying for my stay! At the end of the day, with all taxes and charges totaled up, the US$189 per night charge ended up at $220.

My room on the 23rd floor had a nice view, especially if you stepped outside onto its balcony! However, since my days were either taken up in meetings or catching up on work-related emails, I did not really have the time to savour it much! It was a bit strange to be able to look straight down from such a height - most hotels that I have stayed in do not permit outside access at such a height! Almost as good as the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland!

the hotel is great. people who complain that bad are the ones that want something for free. it's a beautiful hotel. the food is great, the rooms are great. you go to hotels to sleep not to live in. people think they live there and expects it to be just like home. it's close though.
i will recommend this hotel to anyone and i will be back.
We have been staying at the Palace almost every year since 1994. We have just come back after spending two weeks on the beach at St. Pete's and a week at the Wyndham. I cannot stress enough how disappointed we were when shown to our rooms on the third floor. The corridor is dark, dingy and smells of stale smoke! On entering our room, the utility area was quite bright and normal, but the room itself was dark, dirty, smelly and very dingy. My husband was so upset because it has gone down som much since our last vist in 2001. The curtains were dirty, coffee/drinks splashed at them, they were yellow from smoke. The lights were so dull, and we were told they would get brighter the longer they were on! Both the chairs were broken at the sides and we had them replaced sharpish! We were very disappointed that you could not get anything to eat in the Watercress Cafe after breakfast and only a limited menu was available from the Mini-Mart. We were so glad to only be spending a week there, and that we would be at the Parks all day, thereby only having to sleep there. I have not been so disappointed before, and feel I could say plenty more about the slip in standards at the hotel. After staying at the hotel on more than 8 occasions, I can't believe how dingy and dirtly it has now become. We are certain that was the last time for us at the Wyndham, which is a shame because we have some very good memories of our previous stays!
We got a terrific rate of $80 on priceline and were able to upgrade to
a poolside suite for $40 more. The room had 2 bathrooms, microwave and
small fridge and had a sliding door with quick access to the pools,
since it was on the 1st floor. The property, grounds and hotel are
beautuful. We were a little aggravated at first becuase our room wasn't
ready at 3, and we had to wait 30 minutes.
The prices in the restaurants were a bit high, but it's not the Holiday Inn after all.
The best part was the 2 minute walk to Downtown Disney. Since we were in the smaller building by the pool, the walk was short. All together we had a terrific time and would definately go back.
Hi everyone,
Could you please tell me is Universal Studios and Sea Wrold far from this resort?
Should I organise transportation to these places before we go? Is transportation available from the hotel??
Thank you
:)
Regarding distance, it'll take you about 10-15 min drive to Seaworld and 15-20 min drive to Universal.
Call the hotel or e-mail them about if they offer transportation.
Trust me: Wyndham Palace being a "quasi" WDW resort, does NOT offer transport to NON-Disney parks. Source of contention for me...
That said, I tell folks their options:
1) Take a cab. Be about $30-35 from hotel to Universal. Maybe about $20 approx. to SeaWorld.
2) Take a cab to Orlando Premium Outlets. (About a $12 cab ride) and catch the International Drive Trolley. Takes longer, admittedly, but it's certainly cheaper!
Hope this helps!
