Transport from WDW to Universal

by burtonmw

What are our transportation alternatives for 11 people (inc. 3 children)staying at DisneyWorld to go to Universal Studios for the day?

Once at D-world you will have access to the shuttles that go between resorts. I've not been in a few years, but they used to have shuttles between all major venues.

I'm not sure but I don't think the Disney shuttles will take you to Universal studios, there may be other shuttles that will take you back to the bus depot in Orlando. We used a company called Sunray Transportation & found them to be excellent. They were always on time, their vehicles clean & the driver friendly & knowledgeable. Their website is http://sunraytransportation.com/index.htm
Hope you have a wonderful trip.

John is right - Universal is not part of the Disney complex so they don't provide transport between parks.

Are you staying at a Disney resort? I just found this offer for a one day/2 park Universal ticket - with transfers to and from a Disney resort - for $114 per adult, and $106, per child plus tax.

As the normal 1 day/2 park pass is $112 and and $104, respectively, it looks like a really good deal. Hope it works for you!

Why not just rent a van or two for the day and drive? It can't be that expensive split 11 ways.

Travel Tips for Orlando

Of course, Disney

by travel_gurl

So many of us feel as though doing the Disney thing is something you "must" do. This can be a FUN place but also be careful...it can be extremely pricey. I would suggest staying at one of the Disney resorts that fits your budget. Much easier and much cheaper. Definitely try to do all that you can to go on the off-season.

VISIT DISNEY WORLD, THERE'S...

by luvmic40

VISIT DISNEY WORLD, THERE'S NOTHING ELSE LIKE IT. YOU CAN PLAN YOUR WHOLE VACATION THERE AND NOT RUN OUT OF THINGS TO DO. LIKE IT SAYS DISNEY WORLD WITH WORLD BEING THE WORD HERE ITS NOT JUST A THEME PARK ITS A COMPLETE VACATION DESTINATION. WE ARE TRUE DISNEY FANS AND I MISS THE MAGIC OF THE PLACE WHEN WE ARE NOT THERE. SO MUCH SO THAT I USED TO WORK AT OUR LOCAL DISNEY STORE.

Save money?

by Ischyros

If you go to Disney World once a year like so many people I know, you should consider buying an annual pass. Annual passes are valid one year from purchase. Thus if you spend a week at Disney World the first week of March this year, maybe next year go the last week of February instead! I'll do the math for you. Seven days at Disney World each trip with an annual passes comes out to about $27 a day, almost 50% off regular admission prices! You will save a lot of money, not only on tickets, but annual pass holders are entitled to discounts on resort rooms also! Do note though that there are two annual passes. The regular one allows unlimited admission to the four theme parks for a year, the other adds on unlimited admission to the water parks and Pleasure Island also.

Photo Pass

by cjg1

Photo Pass is a nice way to get pictures taken of your whole family. There are roaming Disney photographers in every park. Ask them to take your picture and you are handed a plastic card with an ID number on the back. Each time you want a picture taken, hand the card to the photographer. At the end of your trip you can view your pics at any of the Disney Phot Centers or find them online at http://www.disneyphotopass.com. You can edit your photos, share them with friends and family and order prints.

Print Prices:
Two 4x6: $12.95
5x7: $12.95
8x10: $16.95
4 wallet sized: $19.95
16x20: $29.95

Garmin GPS

by Cielo_Algaeed

Having our own GPS unit during our travels made our lives easier esp when we travelled from one state to the other. the easiest route, nearest hospital, attractions, restaurants, grocery, gas station etc are all provided here through one touch to the screen :-) Although updates are needed esp for new locations of restaurants, shops and even the roads still it was very useful and helpful during our trip. Car rental company do provide GPS unit for an additional charge so, it is better to get one on your own esp for future travels.
