Travel Tips for Orlando

by Gard

Visit Wet'n'Wild. We went over there one day to try out the water slides there. I don’t think that we picked the right day (or maybe we did) because we got lots of rain while we were in there. But we still got to try most of the slides that were open and once we got cold we went into the water to warm up. They had quite a lot of rides there and we had fun for a few hours. It costs about 30 $ per person but this is not the real cost. If you want to park there you have to cough up 5 $ and once you get in it costs 5 $ to get a small locker.

Unlike the UK it appears that some Americans do not get a reasonable wage. Everyone else is expected to suppliment sub standard wages so you can presume that you are not only paying for the service but paying the staff as well. Be aware that this is a culteral differance and expect to give away your hard earned pocket money. Play along and support their system, you are a guest in their country. Although the poor stay poor supported other poor people, and the bar/resteraunt owners make more profit and pay super low wages, what can I say, it's the American way.

Sunblock and ....

by jodssmile

-Don't forget to put sunblock on before going to parks.
If have kids, bring a notebook and pen for autographs from the Disney characters.Best if each kid has own pen.
-Wear comfortable tennis shoes, you are going to be walking a lot.
-sunglasses
-camera
-you are allowed to bring food and water and and snacks in park (beverages ok if not glass containers)
Is nice to bring a few juices and snacks for kids with price of food/drinks so expensive.
But do not bring more than you want to carry all day.

Watch out for moving foliage

by corcatk

Be sure to keep your eyes open when in the Animal Kingdom for DeVine - a performance artist dressed in foliage and on stilts, she can blend in with the surroundings and then suddenly come to life. When she is resting against a tree, people walk right by her without noticing her.

There is also said to be a entertaining palm tree named Wes Palm that teases guests in the Oasis, but we have never encountered him.
