Halloween & water park

by webbix

Hi all

we are going to florida in october. theres 2 things i like advice on

1. halloween nite in universal, chn you buy the tickets on the day or do have to pre book, also is it good!!

2. i was goin to get a flexi ticket , but my sons want to go to blizzard beach & typhoon lagoon, is it better to buy tickets for each park separatley or get flexi ticket and just by ticket to water park, by the way which is the best water park typhoon or blizzard if i choose 1 which is it to be.

thanks in advance for any advice given

Paul

how long are you going to be in the area for? Flex tickets (presume you mean the orlando flex ticket? or do you mean a multi park disney ticket?) are only good if you are there long enough to use all the days and visit all the parks.

My personal favourite out of Blizzard beach and Typhoon lagoon is Blizzard beach because i prefer their slides but they are both amazing!

Halloween
For HHN at universal, you may want to pre-order tickets as the weekends may sell out. It's better to be prepared, plus you won't have to wait in line, and you won't be saving any money waiting to buy at the park.

Waterparks
I'd recommend Blizzard because they have the big amin attraction slide and better rides in general. Typhoon Lagoon is more for enjoying the lazy river and lagoon wave pool. You can't go wrong with either so I wouldn't put too much thought into it.

Travel Tips for Orlando

Kids growthing out of disney?!

by nick723

Well I don't see how, but kids these days, well any way thiers lots more to orlando that disney world! Like Unisverial Studios which as a bit more thrilling attractions for thrillseakers at heart I my self like extreme rollercoasters too! so if your'e teenager is giving you a crossed look about a family trip to orlando, thorw this idea at them, O and da secretly plan a one day detour to disney for you! =) My fondiest memories of orlando are thoose in which i spend thier with my grandparents. so if you have grand kids of your'e own I recoment a special trip with just Jr. Ma & Pa!

If you like adventure, don't...

If you like adventure, don't miss the new updated Universal Studios. In 1993 there was only the one park with the faithful old Jaws, Beetlejuice, Indiana Jones, etc.,but now there's Islands of Adventure with the most hair-raising rollercoasters ever, as well as Universal City Walk, which is sort of like Pleasure Island, but so much better. Everything about Universal was pleasant and surprising, although for service and cleanliness, Disney is first prize. If you're not planning to spend much time in these parks, take time to see the Shamu Show at Sea World, and also Fantasmic at Disney. For an up-market shopping experience, visit Florida Mall - make sure you have lots of time, it's huge. Our hotel was fantastic - we just spent too little time there. We did an RCI timeshare exchange and stayed at Silver Lake Resort, which borders on the back fence of Disney's Animal Kingdom, so it was a quick trip along the highway to the main gates. We had a 2 bedroomed self-catering apartment, which was very luxurious, well-equipped and clean. The hotel has a massive swimming pool which was naturally warm in the hot climate we experienced. We were sorry to leave there having not had the time to truly experience the bliss of lying at that magnificent pool. I wish I had the facilities to include pictures to do justice to all of this.

Orlando is a queue line city....

by eitakorlando

Orlando is a queue line city. Latin Americans are not used to queue lines, so it is up to everyone help them understand -- not their fault, it is a cultural thing. You sometimes have to stand your ground. No one wants to 'fight for their right' while on vacation, but you may have to. Be prepared and it won't be as bad.

Please, please, please do not stop traffic on the toll lanes by asking the toll taker for directions. Once you're through the toll, pull over and examine your map or leave the highway entirely to get help. Also, if you're lost, do not drive under the speed limit while searching for your exit -- again, leave the road and get directions.

Try to remember the reason you came to Orlando -- TO HAVE FUN! There are LOTS of people who come to Orlando to have a good time. The crowds can be overwhelming (I live here and they get a little much). If you remember your manners, everyone will have a good time.
