central to Universal studios

well this is a bit outdated, I say, but when in the area and needed to stay over I did at Hampton Inn, here is their webpage
http://hamptoninn.hilton.com/en/hp/hotels/index.jhtml?ctyhocn=MCOKKHX

you can update info on destination in VT above right for Orlando or Tripadvisor site, but it was always a pleasant place to be. Plenty to eat in and around, see dining on hotel tab.

Hope it help

Unique Quality: it has great facilities, and friendly service plus very close to Universal studios from what I remember lived nearby for many years

Comfortable, excellent breakfast

The rooms were very clean and the beds were very soft and comfortable. There was also free wireless internet. The best part of the stay was the hot breakfast buffet in the morning: eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage as well as toast, bagels, cereal, and a waffle machine to make your own waffles. There was also coffee, tea, juice, and fresh fruit. Complimentary shuttle service to the theme parks including Universal Orlando is also offered, although there are only 2-3 runs to the park in the morning and 2 runs from the park in the afternoon/evening. So you must watch your time and not miss it.

Inexpensive Alternative

I was at a conference the week before my mom had the family reunion at Disney World. This hotel was within walking distance of many inexpensive restaurants, had washers and dryers, a nice pool, a microwave and a small refrigerator in the room and offered free breakfast. There was also a free scheduled shuttle to Disney in the morning. I think it was an excellent alternative for a family, especially one with older kids, to the more expensive properties within the park. It also avoids parking fee charges.

I say older kids because those with little ones might want to come back to the hotel to nap because the shuttle only operates if there are people who want it

Unique Quality: Website says:

Universal Studios - Orlando

Great shows, but the rides are not so exciting. I have been told the California version is much better as you have the backstage tour.
There are 'Express' passes that allow you to 'skip the lines'. I really can't remember for each attractions exactly, but I know for most of them this pass is available.
The suggested planning provided by the park is:
Early morning/late afternoon: Men in Black Alien Attack, Back to the Future, Jaws and Kongfrontation.
During the middle of the day: the live shows
Late afternoon: Terminator 2 & Twister

Shark! Everyone out of the water.

All aboard. This trains leaving the station.

Hard Rock Orlando connects to Universal Studio. OK food, but be prepared to wait.

I'm not sure who told you that, but it is not the least crowed month at all!

It is definetly the hottest and most humid month lol.

I would highly highly recommend changing the dates. I can't even imagine having to wait in lines in the heat and humidty with rain shwoers in the afternoons.

The best months for themeparks for both weather and lines would be. October, November, Janurary, Feburary, March.

If you have kids, December, March, April are the best times.

I live in Orlando, have annual memberships to all the parks, so I know for sure the busy/slow/mid seasons etc.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask me.

August....least crowded !!! sorry I think someone was having a joke!! The brits will be there in force as its the school summer holidays!! so maybe think again!!

I have had several tickets for theme parks and concerts etc from e bay and they have been fine.....many people have 5 day passes and maybe only use a couple of days and come home with unused days....however there is always a risk!!
remember to try to buy off someone with a high feedback rating! and someone who has sold/bought items many time
goodluck!!

I have to agree that Aug. is the worst month to go to parks in Florida! Unbearably hot and extremely long lines. But, if that is the only chance you will get to go, most parks do sell an express pass that allows you to jump to the head of the line (approx. 15 min wait as opposed to 1 1/2 hrs) The pass is fairly cheap, but it is only good once for each ride. If you have a little time to spare (3-4 hrs) take a timeshare tour and you can get free tickets to any park you want - just look around they advertise all over Orlando. As for the hotels - look online, most larger chain hotels are pet friendly, and if they are not, they can tell you which hotels in the area are. I travel with my dog alot and never have any trouble finding a hotel, most dont even charge a pet fee.
Have fun in Florida!
