More about Hilton Grand Vacations Club On International Drive

New, clean, spacious relaxing.

by TripAdvisor Member Hibbing1

This is an excellent facility, clean, spacious and new. The Tuscan theme was colorful and picturesque. My family of four stayed here for an extended weekend on spring break. Tripadvisor led us to choose this location because the positive reviews (those not pertaining to timeshare) that described it as a special place. The Premium Outlet Mall on the other side of the pond had great shops and wide selections of popular designer clothing brands. We did not have enough time to shop there extensively. It is a destination of its own. Check out the Disney outlet for great deals on Disney merchandise at half price or clearance prices.

Our room was the two bedroom style and was spacious, very clean, and offered a great view of the pond and pool area.

The pool area was large and offered relaxing afternoons during breaks in the resort action. The pool staff were very nice and we rented pool toys at a nominal cost. We drove to the parks using the backstreets. The concierge was helpful and had great insight into doing as much as we could in the limited time we had in Orlando.

I highly rate this very new and clean hotel if you are looking to stay off Disney property. We did not participate in any timeshare presentations from experience find them to be confrontational and negative.

I will attach photographs show the appeal of the Hilton Grand Vacations Club on International Drive.

Club Paris

by Foriano about Church Street Station

Best Known As: Hilton Hotel heiress and star of TV's The Simple Life
Known to the tabloids as "Paris the Heiress," Hilton made a name for herself as a party-hopping socialite early in the 21st century. She is the great-granddaughter of hotel magnate Conrad Hilton, granddaughter of Barron Hilton, grand-niece of Nicholas Conrad "Nicky" Hilton (the one-time husband of Elizabeth Taylor) and daughter of real estate magnate Rick Hilton. An occasional model, she also has had a few small film roles, most notably appearing as herself in the hi-fashion satire Zoolander (2001, with Ben Stiller). Her younger sister Nicky is also a well-known socialite. In 2003 Hilton starred in a fish-out-of-water "reality" show called The Simple Life on the Fox Network. The show was a takeoff on the 1960s sitcom Green Acres, with city girls Hilton and Nicole Richie (daughter of singer Lionel Richie) spending a month on a farm in Altus, Arkansas. A big hit, the show spawned sequels in 2004 and 2005. In 2004 Hilton released a book, Confessions of an Heiress, and in 2005 she appeared in the remake of the 1950s horror film classic House of Wax (also starring Elisha Cuthbert).

Hilton became engaged to Greek shipping heir Paris Latsis in May of 2005; however, the two Parises broke off their engagement later that year... The Simple Life also was cancelled by Fox in 2005. However, the E! cable network announced it would pick up the show for 2006... By coincidence, the original Green Acres starred Eva Gabor, the sister of Zsa Zsa Gabor, who was married to Paris Hilton's great-grandfather Conrad Hilton... A similar reality-type show of 2003, Rich Girls, starred fashion fortune heiress Ally Hilfiger... Hilton was in the news in November 2003 when a home video of her cavorting with former boyfriend Rick Solomon was published online. Solomon is the estranged husband of actress Shannen Doherty; the tape was reportedly made in 2000, when Solomon was 30 and Hilton was 19... Hilton is a partner in an Orlando nightclub, Club Paris, which opened in 2004. When going to Club Paris, dress with better style than business casual, although it is certain you will not be turned away if you do. Local residents will most probably not frequent this venue, as they prefer the bars and clubs on Orange Ave. downtown.

nice property sales pressure bad

by TripAdvisor Member brianmcstea

Like the guy whos wife had flu i had bad experiance with Hiltons sales people, i already owned timshare points with Hilton bought on a resale for $11500.
When we arrived at the hotel almost right away the phone rang from this pushy lady wanting us to attend a welcome sales meeting and we would be given $75 dollars to spend in Planet Hollywood, we agreed to go next day at 11, however next day kids wanted Disney so i cancelled meeting.
The hotel was lovely and after a few days we knew we wanted to come for longer so i went to sales office while my wife lay at pool with kids, i told them i had cancelled previous meeting but they were able to see me and answered all my questions. I did not buy as they wanted $27,000 dollars for another 7000 points. They then refused to give me my Planet Hollywood credit as my wife was not with me.
I purchased my points again on a resale shop in Orlando for $13000 so i advise anyone be careful of Hiltons sales people Also check out the resale market i now have 14000 Hilton points purchased for less than halp the price they are sold for at those meetings it can be an expesive way just to get a few cheap park tickets

Great!

by A TripAdvisor Member

My family and I stayed here from April 9 - 16th of 2005. We had a fairly large party so our accomodations were a two bedroom suite with an adjoining room for a third bedroom. It worked out great. We all had our own bathrooms and bedrooms, but yet were totally together. The kitchen was awesome. Staying a full week and also traveling with a 20 month old, it was great to have a fully stocked kitchen. From glasses, dishes, pots, pans, utinsels, pitchers, can opener, toaster, blender, just too much to mention. The washer and dryer was another wonderful added feature. That was just inside............the outside was just as beautiful. The pool was awesome, just beautiful. I will be including some pictures. It was a great experience. The only negative thing I can say is that our rooms were only cleaned once while we were there. I am also a NYC Hilton owner, so they said that since we are "club" members we get one complimentary cleaning. It wasn't the worse thing that could happen, but I was not aware of this procedure, so I was a little taken back. However, all worked out fine. If you have any questions, please feel free to e-mail me.

spot on, clean, well appointed

by TripAdvisor Member mc54321

Lovely spacious studio room, great bathroom, family orientated resort, nice gym, small shop/deli, massive pool, can do staff, they do try and sell you up on things such as tickets and 'timeshare', but if you ignore that it's a great place to stay and we'd go back there anyday.

Had a great time despite some noise

by A TripAdvisor Member

We really enjoyed ourselves at the resort, and are glad we became members of HGVC a couple years back. The resort is beautiful, and well landscaped. Shopping could not be more convenient, though we didn't really take advantage of it this time. We stayed last year at the Seaworld HGVC, which was a lot of fun, and this was even better. One warning -- there is ongoing construction, though its NOT supposed to start until 10 am. We were awoken early 3 mornings in a row by loud construction noise under our unit. The first time we thought it was a maintenance emergency. The second time we complained, and were assured it would not happen again. The Hilton also made it up to us in other ways. However, it happened a 3rd morning and we were very upset. It took a lot to calm us down and make us happy again, but they did it.

Despite that one drawback, which keeps this from getting 5 "circles" the vacation was great. We'd go back again anytime.

What a beautiful place!

by TripAdvisor Member TMAN81899

Wow! This place was awesome. We loved it. We traveled with a 1 1/2-year-old a 5-year-old. There was something for everyone.

Check-in went smooth and did not take anytime at all. The staff was very friendly. The room was so clean, which is very important to me. The only downside to the room was we had a king size bedroom suite, it was one room, that was fine but the bathroom did not have a bathtub just a shower. We really need a bathtub for our little one. We were only staying here for two nights so it was not that big of an inconvenience.

The pool was great. It was so big. The waterfall was a nice touch. There were plenty of chairs available around the pool no matter what time you arrived. They had a nice size pool bar. At night they had family activities, movies, music, contests for the kids etc. It kept us very busy. We spent most of our time at the hotel the two days were there except when we went to the outlet mall right down the road.

We ordered food from the bar at night by the pool and it was superb. We ate dinner there both nights. The little deli was nice to grab breakfast and Starbucks coffee in the morning.

There was a nice little play area for the kids that was just the right size and the kids loved it.

There is a grocery store across the street if you need anything. It is a Publix and they are reasonably priced.

The hotel does have some construction going on but it did not affect us at all. They are adding a lot more rooms. This hotel was great and we will definitely return next year.

Hilton hits the mark...and then some!

by TripAdvisor Member Tinabean

We arrived around 6pm on Sunday and the resort was an easy trip from the airport. We booked through RCI and are never dissapointed with our accomodations...the HGVC on I-Drive was no exception. The resort is located at the southern end of International Drive, which is inhabited by many luxury condo and villa resorts...a nice part of town to be in. Much less traffic and less kitch and tacky tourist traps.

When we pulled in...the resort looked beautiful, we were exhausted and just wanted to get to our room. Check in was very quick, less than 5 minutes and the woman behind the desk informed us that there would be a movie by the pool that evening. The thought of floating in warm water watching a cute movie was enticing...but we had groceries to buy.

Thankfully, the Publix market is directly across the street. We stocked up on breakfast and lunch stuff, some snacks and plenty of wine and beer. We used a soft-sided cooler as a carry-on and that came in very handy at the pool. We'd pack sandwiches, chips, beer and water on ice (ice-maker in the freezer!) so we didn't have to leave the pool all day! How nice. The resort has a lovely poolside bar and grill where we had huge, delicious burgers that were reasonably priced, about $7 - but the $5 cans of Corona seemed expensive, so we continued to pack our own.

We stayed in the 1 BR, full kitchen, dining table, living room, screened-in porch, private bath with Whirlpool tub (ohhhh....), this place was stocked! I'm talking premium everything all the way. Since this resort is new, everything is shiny and sparkly, just the way it should be. In the kitchen, you'll find a dishwasher (soap too!), full electric flat-top stove/oven, microwave, garbage disposal, granite counters, hardwood cabinets....and all the appliances are black (very modern), PLUS Cusinart everywhere! From cookware, pots, coffeemaker, blender...etc. Cusinart is the top of the line...and so is everything in this place.

The bathroom is larger than my entire house. Maybe that's a slight exaggeration, but not much. The tub is fan-tas-tic. Bring bubblebath, fill it up with hot water, climb in, press the little button on the right...and exxxhaaaale. Ahhhhh. Two sinks, 2 enormous mirrors (wall-length), a 2 person shower and beautiful tiling top it off. My only complaints about our room are in the bathroom....

First, the tiling around the tub, while pretty, didn't seem to be installed as perfectly as everything else in the room. There were signs of a 'rush job' and some ugly gaps and sloppy workmanship...something I noticed while bathing.

Second, in the shower there is absolutly nowhere to put your things. As a woman, I have little bottles of everything and there's no where to put them at all. Quite a pain. A little pain...but details count.

The living room has a comphy couch and a big, fluffy chair with ottoman, so we could both stretch out and be comfortable while watching a DVD on the flat screen TV. We brought our DVD's from home (Netflicks) ...then mailed them back from there. We watched 2 moves in one week, we were wiped from all the sun and just wanted to chill. I think I fell asleep on that couch twice! Covered with the extra blanked from the closet and the extra FEATHER pillows, it was heavenly to fall asleep there.

But if sleep you like...the King bed was super-wonderful (as long as you don't have a snorer next to you:) A great nature-sounds alarm clock, a whisper-quiet ceiling-fan and another flat screen TV...we slept well at night, but unfortunately....another complaint....CONSTRUCTION is still going on. Right outside our window at around 7:30 am it would start...jackhammers, pounding, the 'beep, beep, beep' of cement trucks backing up. Ugh. That was no fun our first morning. We decided NOT to complain and move, we stayed for the entire week for $150....so, what's to complain about??

The maid comes once a week...READ the leather-bound handbook in the room, it'll explain all the ins and outs of everything. From how to work the washer and dryer to how to get the DVD to work to how much it is to get a massage at the pool....

Perfect location. Pefect. I-Drive is hopping - drive North to Cafe Tu Tu Tango, eat some Tapas (appetizers) and enjoy the ambience. The Drive to WDW is less than 10 mins! Around the corner from I-4 and the Premium Outlets just across the way. You'll need a car! Do NOT depend on the Trolly....waste of time.

One hint for Sushi lovers: In the Publix shopping center there is a Sushi place (around the right side of the square, forget what it's called)....
AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS. Run away. There are a thousand better places just a bit up I-Drive. Just thought I'd warn any adventurers....

Hope this helps...enjoy your stay! We sure did!

Great place!

Just got back from my stay at the HGVC on International Drive. Beautiful, brand new room. Very spacious, clean, with all amentities. Housed my family of 4 very comfortably. Pool area is very nice. Kids loved the pool despite the lack of a slide or lazy river. My only complaint--there was no consistent children's camp offered. Otherwise--great place, highly recommended.

Tourists, tourists everywhere.

You'll find many more tips on Orlando here at VT. Suffice it to say we made the obligatory stop on our recent trip to visit our daughter in Florida.
Orlando and Las Vegas are the 2 US cities that can be summed up best by saying they are towns that tourism built.

We only had time for one park this visit so we opted for Universal's Island's of Adventure. One of the newest theme parks in the Orlando area, with several themed areas. Jurasic Park was my wifes favorite!

"A plethora of accomodation options"

You'll find many, many choices when deciding where to stay. Being members of the Hilton Grand Vacation Club, we opted to their newest resort along International Drive.
We arrived just a few days after huricane Charlie came through and there were several trees down throughout the property.

Hilton grand vacation club

Hi. We have been to Florida twice and both times stayed at Hilton grand vacation club Orlando. We would like to stay there again if we can rent a time share week in the first week of July, or last week of June this summer. Anyone able to help? We rented a timeshare privately the other times. We are a family of four, with two grown teenagers so we need a two bedroom appartment.
