transportation from Stanfort airport to Universal area
by guerrsarah
I am traveling with children and want to find an inexpensive way to get to the hotel. the hotel will be located in the Universal Studios area. Is there a bus system rather than pay a shuttle per person fee.

Mears Transportation offers bus service from Sanford Airport, you can book online at their website. Bus fare from Sanford to the Orlando area one way is $28.00 or $52.00 roundtrip between the hours of 12 noon and 7pm, after that they are $50.00 one way or $100.00 roundtrip, 7pm to midnight. You might want to consider renting a car and if you don't need the car for your stay rent it for 24 hours to get you to your location and then back to the airport, there may be however a drop fee so compare prices.
Travel Tips for Orlando
Meeting up with a fellow VTer!!!
by bruingirl
I had the pleasure of meeting a VTer in person! Hexepatty and I met through VT because I was hoping to meet up with someone while I was out in Orlando for a work conference. She not only met up with me for dinner, but she also showed me a terrific time in Epcot and downtown Disney! She was so friendly and we had a great time together! Being able to meet a fellow VTer on the other side of the country allows you to see how truly small this world is!
MICKEY'S ICE CREAM TREATS
by moiraistyx
Patrick, Gryphon, Thaddeus and Sebastian looked forward to their daily ice cream treat. All over the Disney parks you can find ice cream vendors selling all sorts of ice cream yummies from frozen fruit bars to bottles of soda pop. Patrick's favorite was the Mickey Mouse ice cream sandwich that was made with cookies and cream ice cream. My favorite was the frozen strawberry bar. The other boys enjoyed the frozen orange juice bar and some treat with a name I can't pronounce, it was basically a long skinny popsicle. These treats can run you anywhere from $2.50 to $4.00 though. Watching Patrick have his first bit of his Mickey Mouse ice cream sandwich.

Orlando's not a one -mouse town and this is the site that proves it..
Lake Eola Swan Boats, right in the heart of Orlando's super- serious business district is this charming bit of whimsy.
lake Eola is Orlando's signature park, with its spectacular floating fountain.
Along its shore, at a tiny kiosk called the Lake Eola Cafe, you can rent paddle boats decked out as graceful white swans . A sunset cruise on a swans .
Coast $7 per half hours, including tax.

Two words: boots and bikinis. Oh, and one other word: rednecks. This Orlando institution is a behemoth of Southern-fried abandon. With country music seemingly on a redneck rebound ("I'm a Redneck Woman," is charting, people), this joint package store/honkytonk is putting its 15,000 square feet to some good-timing, line-dancing use, even hosting a weekly teen night for rednecks in training.
The future is upon us. And it will be dripping Skoal-spit.
Packing List
by buzzz
Lightweight bag or backpack Comfort, Comfort and more comfort. Lightweight cotton short, and t shirts. Don't worry about getting wet, you'll soon dry out. Cool wet wipes. A little water spray with rose water in is very refreshing to spray in your face. Cover your head, especially children, in the Florida sun. Load on suncream, minimum factor 20, higher for kids. Drink frequently
