HOME OF ORLANDO'S BEST GROUPER SANDWICH
Unbelievable .... maybe I love the simple pleasures in life but even tho we'd arrived at the La Quinta Inn (Orlando International Drive North) around 9.30pm local time, after a day's travelling from the UK, tired and sticky ... in the forage for food there it was, right next door to the Inn ... a really down to earth, homely, no airs or graces place that looked just prefect for ending the 1st day of the holiday.
See www.fishonfireorlando.com/photos.htm for pics of the place ... I pinched one of them to make this tip more colourful .. I hope they don't mind.
Just as we got there at the back of 10pm (it was a Friday) the live music started ... it was good stuff, the guy could sing anything, and he pretty much did. But there's no problem if you think live music is noisy... there's a main part to the place where you can be in the thick of it or a side part where its a little more quiet .. and of course being Florida (i.e. somewhere warm) it's got lots of outside space to. Being a Florida Style Smokehouse & Grill with lots of fish dishes, as you might guess, I ordered a 'FOFer Burger - $5 - traditional ¼ burger with Cheese', but it was the best burger I've had in ages ... washed it down with 2 frosty 23oz glasses of 'Beer on Fire' ... the dark kind, rather than blonde (if you know what I mean).
.... the menu is on the website if you want to see more.
