Wizarding World of Harry Potter

by mccm333

what is the best time of day to visit the wizarding world of harry potter?

Re: Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Based upon past experiences at the theme parks in Orlando, I would suggest 3 times:

1) Immediately after the park opens. Being new this is the first place people will head to. Be in line at least 1 hour before the park opens.

2) Sometimes during the lunch hours between 12 and 1. The early morning crowds have thinned a bit and people are taking a break for lunch.

3) About an hour or two before the park closes. The early birds have left and others may be having dinner.

Steer clear of the weekends. Usually the middle of the week is the best.

We have just returned from a holiday in florida. In our experience I would recommend going to harry Potter as soon as the park opens. That is what we did and we queued for about 1 hour. We spoke to a cast member in Harry Potter and asked why there were barriers separating it from the rest of the park, her answer was because later in the day it gets so busy and reaches maximum capacity sometimes they have to close the Harry Potter area off at around 6pm. Therefore to save disappointment I would go first thing as you really do not want to miss it.

Do lots of planning. There is so much to do. The more planning and research that you do the more you will get out of your visit to Walt Disney World Playing hard. Getting up early arriving at the theme park at opening time (usually 9am) and going full tilt until closing time (usually 9pm.

go to Wekiva Springs. They're so clear you can see to the bottom at least ten or twelve feet and little baby animals swim up next to your canoe. Overhead are enormous trees draped in Spanish moss and life exploding all around you! it's one of the most beautiful river's i've ever seen... don't miss this place i was very sad that so many subdivision are growing in this area... 1800 Wekiva, Longwood (off 441)

Pin Trading

by cjg1

I had never heard of such a thing as "Pin Trading". Liz had told me that it's a Disney custom and has become an obsession for some die hard Disney enthusiasts.

In every Disney Park and the Market place there are pins and lanyards for sale. You start by buying a lanyard and a few pins. As you walk through the parks you can trade one of your pins for any staff members pin that you like. Certain pins are staff only issue so they are off limits (staf will normally explain that to guests). It's a fun activity for kids and adults alike. Liz used to be a pin nut but has resigned herself to just buy souveniers instead of doing the pin trading thing.

There are some really cool pins in the Parks that display certain locations, attractions, characters and celevrations occuring in the park.

Packing List

Comfort, comfort, comfort. I wear mostly lightweight cotton in the summer in Florida. At night, you might get lucky and have a cool breeze, so a sweater could come in handy. Of course, don't forget your bathing suit! In the winter, anything goes. The weather is completely unpredictable. The day will start cold and by noon be up to 80F and then back down to 30F at night. Definitely pack a heavy coat and a fleece - the layering philosophy applies in Orlando in the winter just as much as anywhere else.

In the summer, I wear only sport sandals. If you wear flip-flops - especially on thrill rides, they might fall off. Winter shoes in Orlando...that depends. My feet don't get very cold. Today is a 'winter day', but I am wearing sandals. Pack something to fit a couple of scenarios and you'll be fine.
Sunglasses and Sunscreen!!! Don't walk outside without them on! Keep a small umbrella around (you never know). Aloe vera gel (this helps heal sunburns).
The beaches are beautiful! No matter which one you pick. I travel light, and only take a towel and an umbrella. If you decide to go to New Symrna, stop by Mon Delice Bakery. It is always full of people, but they have great sandwiches and pastries!
