not the best

This motel is convenient to Orlando Airport, people at the front desk accomodating, housekeeping was very sloppy. Carpets were spotted, toilet leaked (it did get fixed after I went to front desk), needed to ask for more wash clothes, no kleenix, 3 out of 5 lamps worked. The beds were wonderful. Strongly feel they need to follow up on the housekeeping staff to be sure they are completing/restocking/checking the rooms. Carpets were in real need of a deep cleaning.

Unique Quality: The front desk staff were polite and accomodating. Orlando Airport was close but rarely heard a plane.

Hi - most people stay in the Kissimmee area. The actual city of Orlando is some distance from the parks. When booking an apartment be sure to check the distance from the parks. Many are within a couple of miles of Disneyworld. Prices vary depending upon amenities and location but it is usually a better deal than most hotels - especially the Disney hotels. You can check on www.vrbo.com and www.homestay.com.

Sorry, I meant to say "most people stay in the Kissimmee/Lake Buena Vista area". (International Drive is fine.) You do not want to stay in "Orlando" even with a car.

Hi Pedro - I lived there as well and still visit frequently. Competition is so great for rentals that great deals can be found very close to Disney. (We got a super one for an upcoming family reunion.) The "tourist" areas are where you likely want to be with an abundance of restaurants, shopping, and other things to do (including International Drive). Parts of Orlando, as you must know, can be a little "iffy" and it's not much fun getting stuck on I-4 trying to get to the parks in the morning!

Travel Tips for Orlando

Animal Kingdom!

by eugini2001

My favorite things are shows; I don’t go to parks for roller coasters only.
I just love their shows all of them: they are interesting, short and funny. Festivals of the Lion King-live performance and 3D theaters are something really worth to watch, don’t miss parade it’s the best at the animal kingdom as I think!
Kids have a lot of things to do too. My child was a researcher, identifying whose sound it is –she enjoyed it I bet. She was delighted to meet a naked mole rat there (famous pet from Kim Possible) .Little “pet and brush an animal” spot is the reason you cannot move on, since children think that’s what exactly they are here for!
And just look around, look at these bird on the trees in my picture I think it’s millions of them.
Kilimanjaro safari is another fun you cannot miss-we even bought safari outfit to fit the scenery. It’s always a pleasure to meet your favorite character, you feel something special. If you love animals, can relax and enjoy the ride and know how to have fun it’s a double fun and enjoyable thing to visit a place like this one.I love the places that are family friendly and this one is a special one!

ride the Tower of Terror at Disney's MGM Studios! Disney, of course! Favorite rides at the Magic Kingdom? Splash Mountain, it was worth the 3 hour wait in line. Alien Encounter, scared the...well, you know, out of us! Last, but certainly not least, It's A Small World, what can I say? Afterall...

Visit Universal Studios, when I was there the Jaws ride was actually up and running, it had been shut down for quiet a while, however half way through the ride it broke down and we were stuck in the middle of the lake unable to get off the boat due to high voltage cables and machinery in the water. The guide on the boat had a great sense of humour and after about half an hour of telling us we will soon be on our way again, he sat down with the microphones and said 'well it looks like we will be here for some time, so tell me about yourselves, so we can all get to know each other a little better as we have to sleep together here' the whole boat collapsed laughing. The Blues Brothers show is not to be missed. Since my visit, Universal Studios have built an additional section of rides.

by buzzz

Tip about 10% - 15% if you are happy with your service in restaurants. That's about average. When people in Orlando wish you a nice day they do mean it. It's so nice, but if someone in UK said it to you it would sound so phoney.

Packing List

by Shellabella

Pack light!!! It is always hot here. And when it gets chilly...a windbreaker will do fine. Besides, walking all day in the theme parks can get messy, so wear comfortable clothing. You can get anything you may have forgotten here. Don't stress too much about it.
