How busy would Busch gardens be on Jan 1st?

by mickey.p

Hi,

I am avoiding all the Orlando parks over the Christmas/New Year period. We have decided to do a couple of nights on the Gulf Coast over New year but this would mean doing Busch Gardens on either 1st or 2nd January - these fall on Friday and Saturday - are they likely to still be busy?

We are there for 4 weeks and are having a nightmare trying to sort out what we are doing and when as our family members are only coming for 3 weeks and a week of that is over Christmas and New Year so we need to avoid the parks!!!

Yes, it is likely that either day would still be busy since it's technically the last weekend of the (school) Christmas holidays. It might be better going on the 1st though since many people might be getting a late start to the day on the 1st after celebrating New Year's Eve. Google the attendance info for Busch Gardens to see if that can help you decide.

Have not been to Busch Gardens on the first, but we visited the Mouse on the first once and can say it was more doable on the first than on 28th Dec. - not sure if that will help.

I have never visited the park on January 1st, but we visited Busch Gardens during the holiday season in 2006, and it was not too busy at all. This is good if you want to ride lots of rides and not spend all of your time waiting in line. We were only there about 5 hours, but we got to see a lot of the animals, ride all of the roller coasters, ride several other big rides, and even eat and listen to a musical show. This would be impossible to do in such s short time on a busy day.

Never been at New Year but went on Christmas Eve last year - although it was busier than it had been the previous week when we visited it was by no means too busy. I think the longest we waited for a ride was 20 minutes compared to getting straight on everything the week before. Still managed to get to see all the animals as well. Dont think Busch Gardens ever gets unbearable compared to some of the other parks.

We are now doing Busch Gardens on 30th December as we have changed our itinerary around slightly - Hope it's not as busy as the main holiday dates!

Thank you for all your advice.

visit the DISNEY-MGM STUDIOS!!

Again, head straight for their top attractions the minute you enter the park premises... otherwise the queue later will only get worse....

Rock ā€˜nā€™ Roller Coaster - Starring Aerosmith
Tower of Terror
Star Tours
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular
And this, my friends, is the finale to a SPECTACULAR night time entertainment cum fireworks display right here at this equally fun theme park. Get your cameras ready because the minute the fireworks display is over, a HUGE Mickey Mouse (and I really mean HUGE) balloon will be released from right behind this replica of the real Mann Chinese Theater found in LA. I was riveted.

We're very aware of the fact that there are prettier, more elegant (and more expensive) seafood establishments in Orlando. But we also know there's not a lot of class to be had when it comes to ripping into crab legs by the pound or plateloads of oysters. And Harry's serves up enormously generous portions of very fresh seafood cooked just about any way you'd want it. Couple that with a not-too-shabby beer selection (at good prices) and a supercasual atmosphere and you'll never drive to the beach just to get dinner again. Oh, wait, are we the only people who do that?

The one thing Orlando isn`t short of and that`s golf courses, whether they are just fun mini golf courses or the full blown 18 hole championship courses there is something for everybody and all standards.

The first time I went to Orlando in 1996 Tiger Woods won the Disney Open, that would have been pretty cool to go and see I wonder if he played on the greens shaped like Mickey Mouse.

I wonder if the aligators cause much trouble??? Well if it`s mini golf you just hire a club and a ball but if you are a little bit more serious about your golf you need the whole lot. You will need your own clubs, shoes and relevant clothing. I`m not too sure if you will be able to hire any of the equipment in Orlando but I should imagine that you would.
