Left item disappears
I stayed one short night after a late flight. Room was comfortable, but in the morning I realized I had left my cell phone on night stand while on my way to airport in shuttle. With a loaned phone, I was told by the man at the desk that he would go get my phone from the room and put it behind the desk where lost and found things are collected. When I called back just before I was to pick up the phone 2 days later, a man told me that the employee who was supposed to go get the phone from the room did not work there anymore and that he was unable to check the lost and found because he didn't have a key for it. On the second call, a lady told me the phone had not been logged into the found item sheet, so it was not there. (Couldn't the first guy have checked the sheet?) My wife called later to ask if someone could actually do a physical check of the lost and found shelf/closet/area in case it was there. But she was told by a lady that the phone was not there because she had been working everyday and "nothing had been turned in". The lady at the desk was noticably irritated that my wife asked her repeatedly to please check the lost and found. OK, so yes, it was my fault I left the phone, but which employee stole it?? No, I'll never stay there again and will not recommend this hotel to anyone. Is it too much to ask of your employees to turn found items in?

Re: Sunpass or no Sunpass

You actually can avoid all the tolls if you go North exit from airport to Fl Rt 50. Go west on 50 to US 27 North to Ocala. Then take I 75 north to I-10 west. No tolls. I have done that before with no real loss of time and far less traffic than toll road. Of course if you are going during workers commute times, it could be slower. But it will be on the toll roads too. Even if you do use the toll roads, for just one trip, you can pay cash at the toll booths. They do make change.

Dollar normally will charge you about $6.95 per rental day. so remember if you say yes to this your going to paya lot of money, if you plan to do a lot of driving on the toll roads then you can save money if your only taking a couple of trips then no its not worth it

Travel Tips for Orlando
Parades at the Magic Kingdom
by goingsolo
There are two parades each afternoon in the Magic Kingdom. During the summer, and periods when the park is open later, the Main Street Electrical Parade is also put on at night. The afternoon parades run along Main Street USA and into Liberty Square and then Frontierland. Since the parades are so popular, crowds start building up along the sidewalk of the parade route at least an hour beforehand.
If you want to see the parade from a good vantage point, find your spot early. If you're not interested in the parades, this is a good time to explore the parks since lines for rides will be shorter.

keep an eye out for coupon books and discounts for themeparks, attractions, restaurants, souveior shops etc. Most hotels and restaurants have racks filled with coupons in their lobbies or reception areas. So make sure to grab one.

see the parades. The day time parade at Magic Kingdom starts about 3pm. Get your postition, in a shaded spot if possible, at least an hour beforhand. This is the dragon from the Mulan Parade at MGM 1999.
BEST BRUNCH

BEST BREAKFAST/BRUNCH
Global Brunch Sundays at Gargi's Lakeside, 1414 N. Orange Ave., (407) 894-7907
The fairy godchild of Julian Bain and Sam Singhaus recently relocated to the newly-lakefront Italian eatery, Gargi's, and has shifted moods. Where it was once bawdy, it's now just picturesque. Better food and a better view make it still the place to drown your sorrows on a Sunday afternoon.
Packing List
by dzni
Pack light if you can... bring hard-cased luggage since you might buy some items that you don't want crushed. HOT in summer, but frequently there'll be a brief afternoon thundershower since it's so humid. Winters will be mild, in the 60's maybe.
