Visit Epcot Center! This is...

Visit Epcot Center! This is one of the three major places you can visit at Walt Disney World. Personally, it's my favorite. On one side of the park there are science-type exhibits about the world around us, which I like (come on, I'm an engineer). The other side has cultural pavilions (i.e., France, Germany, etc.), which I love as well (evident from my love of traveling). Anyway, I realize that these cultural pavilions are not like actually visiting the country. However, despite this and some people's complaining, it really is neat and a lot of fun. Some people can't make it overseas and this is one way for them to experience a little bit of a few countries.
Every night there's a laser show over the lake here as well. There are rides and there's good food at the pavilions! Anyway, it's a lot of fun... I certainly enjoyed it! I could tell you about EVERYTHING there is at Epcot, but I don't think I have enough space! :)
Mr. Toad's Wild Ride
by b1bob
This should be a "transportation" tip. On both of my visits to Disney World (1978 and 1980), Mr. Toad's Wild Ride was one of my favourites. I admit, openly and without shame, that when I visited Disneyland in Anaheim in 1995 (at age 26), I STILL enjoyed it! In 1998, they took it out. Progress doesn't always mean "better".

Bring extra bags for the extra stuffs that you're going to buy while in Orlando. We actually bought 3 big bags for the excess stuffs that we bought. Because of the unpredictable weather in Orlando. One should not miss to bring umbrella and Ponchos/raincoat. Umbrella for either sunny or rainy day :-)
Comfortable shoes or thick sole slippers or sandals coz you'll be doing a looooooooot of walking. A. Although its not that hard to find paracetamol and anti allergy medicines in Orlando. It is better to bring your own. You may not find the brand that suites you.
B. Sunscreen ~ Apply sunscreen with a SPF of atleats 15, paying special attetnion to your ears, face , nose and shoulders. Batteries, charger, water proof case or water proof camera. A. Mist fan to cool you down on a hot and sunny day.
B. Wear a hat
C. Wear sunglasses with UV Protection
D. Bring a small bag or a back pack wherein you can put your stuffs.
the REAL downtown

I, too, am disgruntled that a travel website that supposedly looks for authenticity would lump about 1 million residents in with a theme park. (gets down off soapbox) When in Orlando, you should travel downtown to see a great collection of residential architecture from 1890s to 1930s. Old? Not compared to the NE but take in the imagery of great live oak canopied brick streets the way we survived before the advent of A/C. There are several historic districts downtown and the city has a great website for taking walking tours of such.
I'm new to this website so I'll post images later.
