My fondest memory of Orlando...
My fondest memory of Orlando was going to Disney World. Not only did the kids have a great time on the attractions, but I was in awe of the landscaping. Just up the main street of Magic Kingdom is Cinderella's Castle.

Hi!
Can anyone recommend anything for 4 adults and 5 children (aged 5, 10, 10, 12, 16) to do in Orlando for New Years Eve? It is also 1 of the adults birthdays on 31st.
Our other option is to get a babysitter to stay in and watch the kids whilst we adults go out! How would we get a reputable sitter? In England they are Ofsted Registered and CRB checked to ensure they are safe but obviously I don't know what the equal thing is in USA.
My other question is regarding the Orlando Magics, my 10 year old is demented on Basketball and in the UK we sadly son't get the chance to watch professional games! Can anyone tell me when the schedule for December will be released for the Orlando Magics and how we get tickets? I'm going round in circles on their website!
We are travelling 11 Dec-8 Jan so anything anyone else can recommend other than the obvious please feel free to reply!
i wouldn't leave a 16 year old in charge of a passel of kidlets - but with a 16 year old if you gave them a cell phone number - then a babysitter doesn't have to be quite so kosher i think
but i don't know that any 16 year old i know would want to stay home and monitor the baby sitter
try this website.....you can email a request for Orlando Magic tickets.

Also, you can probably find a lot in which to park your car for $5.00 and walk 3 -4 blocks to the arena. Closed lots charge more.

VISIT SEA WORLD By the mid-eighties SEA WORLD was starting to lose it’s appeal. The park was beginning to look shabby so Sea World began to add rides and shows to the usual stuff.
1-Sea World Sea Lion and Otter Stadium
'Clyde and Seamore Take Pirate Island' features sea lions, otters and walrus .
2-Terrors of the Deep Exhibit
four large Plexiglas tubes. Within the tubes lurks the world’s largest collection of venomous and/or carnivorous life-threatening sea creatures. .
3-Sea World's Journey to Atlantis
water-flume ride . The theme of the ride is that the lost city of Atlantis has resurfaced
Shamu Stadium
the usual ..Sadly, in 'Shamu Adventure,' the whale is joined by animal 'guru' Jack Hanna in simulated trips to Alaska and Norway. To me Jack Hanna has to be the worlds dumbest animal 'expert' because all I ever hear on his TV shows and Letterman when he is asked questions is..'Dunno'...or 'Gee I dunno' and I find it irritating at best. No thanks ';-)
you can easily cover the highlights in an afternoon and be well on your way to Disney World!!!
When you can't walk cuz you fell off the sidewalk, go sit in the doctor's chair near the Tea Cups. The artist will paint your face whichever way you want. It's almost as relaxing as a massage!
Too bad I had to wait in line with a knee as big as my waist for 40 minutes but I don't want to get negative here!
My neighbour's face turned out well!
take a spare bag/rucksack with you. You Will buy loads of stuff and will need to get it home somehow! luggage here is expensive. Sunhats, suncream and waterproof mac! it is the thunderstorm capital! lol! We always take a good supply of medicines but you can buy anything here to be honest. Again, you can buy amazing cameras at brilliant prices, but if you are taking your own, bring plenty of film or memory! HIGH sun factor cream, the sun is really intense and we got burnt very quickly. some kind of waterproof sandal are great for the water parks and the water rides at the other parks.
From Orlando Resorts in Oragen County, Cocoa Beach is a day outing worth experiencing. As the waves curl and spill over onto shore, they have a brown color, thus the reference to 'cocoa' is apt. The beach is expansive, all the way from Cape Canaveral, which can be seen from anywhere on the beach, looking north. Looking souch, the beach archs and can be seen extending many miles. Only at one place, the beach access at the patio pubs, was the beach crowded. This was during spring break, and college students were sprawled tanning, with other groups of students and locals on the patio pub watching.
With camcorder in hand, I walked out on the pier later to film surfers who gathered in the early evening. Ron Jon's surf shop is the local name and place to buy your long board and water gear.
