Walking by the streets
by GUYON
The Palm Beach population is normally 10.000 but it rises to 30.000 during the high season.
But on the Sunday morning, this population is still in bed and nobody is roaming by the streat and the shops wait 10AM to open , if they are open.
It is impressive to stroll in the town : it is like to visit a movie studio, above all because each building is clean and recently painted.

Watching wealth through the window
Ah, yes, the luxurious Palm Beaches -- a playground for some of America's most storied families and wealthiest tycoons. I have been through posh Palm Beach and downtown West Palm Beach on several occasions, both on Interstate 95 and the A1A coastal route. I have cruised down ritzy Worth Avenue, a street lined with upscale boutiques and department stores. I have tried to sneak a peek inside the gates of Trump's mansion while passing by on the highway. I have also meandered through the streets of downtown West Palm Beach. Of course, all of this sightseeing was done from the car, not on foot, as we have always been en route to somewhere else at the time.
Don't get me wrong. I would love to actually spend more time exploring West Palm Beach and Palm Beach, especially now that they've added a new shopping, restaurant and entertainment focal point to their downtown area. The problem is that the area competes for time with Fort Lauderdale, a destination with more to offer and a less pretentious reputation.
Palm Beach is part of the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale Metropolitan Area.

Wealthy Palm Beach
by GUYON
We wished to visit Palm Beach, well known to be a Florida Eldorado and presented at the TV as one of the richest cities of USA. For us it was a goal : to stay in Palm Beach, not nearby in which it is cheaper.
Unfortunately, a change of flight schedule led us to stay only 2 days : our arrival day plus an entire day. The second was a Sunday and the city which is very peaceful, was aslept.
More the weather was exceptionnaly cold : no swimming in the ocean, a pull over to stroll by the streets.

Palm Beach County is one of America’s great playgrounds, abounding in outdoor recreational opportunities and indoor attractions. Lion Country Safari, for instance, lets families get a close-up view of African wildlife from the safety of their cars. Other attractions range from offshore scuba diving trips to dozens of challenging golf courses. Here are some ideas for enjoying your leisure time
