Ocean fishing and must see places

by kebmod

We would like to find an affordable charter to try some ocean fishing and if you know of any places that would be on a "must see" list, your input would be appreciated. We picked the Legacy By the Sea and have 5 days to live it up.
Thanks for any replies in advance!

The most popular place to go fishing from in PCB is at Treasure Island Marina. They have deep sea fishing charters $50 from 8a-4p. You get to keep as many as you catch and only have to pay if you want them cleaned at the marina. Bring a lunch and plenty of sunscreen. (oh, and don't forget the dramamine!) Here's the link to their website:

Travel Tips for Panama City Beach

Vortex Springs Diving

by MatthewMetcalfe

Vortex Springs is a natural Spring 45 minutes north of Panama City in Ponce De Leon Florida. Aside from being a great dive training site, the water is clear and offers the cave diver a new cave to explore.

For those who are training, there's a dive bell and man made caves to train in as well as platforms for learning. The water is a cool 72 year round. I wore a 3 mil shorty over a 3 mil full suit with gloves and was still a little cold. I recommend a hood as well.

panama city beach florida

"the emerald coast a.k.a. the "redneck" rivera"

panama city beach is a very popular beach town in northwest florida. panama city beach should not be confused with the town of panama city on the mainland. both of these two towns have a very different atmosphere. panama city beach is a crowded touist town while panama city is a historic old florida town with a more laid back attitude. panama city beach gets it's nickname "the redneck rivera" from the numbers of visitors from nearby alabama and georgia. in the spring of each year panama city is invaded by over 100,000 college students for spring break. panama city beach has a number of "mega" bars which cater to the college crowd. panama city beach is lined with high rise condos and hotels and has scores of bars and restaurants. panama city beach can be a very different town depending on the time of the year. in the summer panama city caters to families on vacation. in the spring the town is taken over by drunken college students. in the winter panama city is a very quiet beach town. depending on your interests consider the time of year to plan your visit. personally i like to visit panama city in the fall when the prices are lower and the summer crowds are gone.
