Just A Short Visit

Panama City Beach was just a short trip down from Destin where we were staying. The drive took only about 45 minutes.
. What a gorgeous area although it was really glarey the morning we were there and with a headache both from the wine the night before and from walking into the t.v. cabinet in the middle of the night, the brightness was a struggle:-) Still the beaches were gorgeous. Unfortunately this page is really just about the beach area where we visited.

Pier 77 - Fresh Seafood at a reasonable price.

Pier 77 is a local seafood restaurant on Thomas Drive. The owners also own Shrimp City Seafood Market next door. The restaurant serves the freshest seafood at reasonable prices in a family atmosphere. There's nothing fancy about this restaurant, just good eating. We opened with a bowl of Fried Pickles. If you've never tried them, you really should. They are awesome!

The Fried Shrimp were excellent as was the Fried Grouper. There are a variety of local catches which change daily.

"Brilliant White Sand Beaches"

Panama City Beach:

A 70 minute drive from our house to the beach! White sands (so white it hurts to open your eyes in the middle of the day). Sailing! Swimming! Seafood!! Yes!: Our family favorite! If you get a good tan normally and have never been to these white sand beaches, WEAR SUNSCREEN! Our family tans easily and we use spf 15 and 30!
