Ahhh...the beach!
by travel_gurl
Being from the East Coast, where going to the "beach" meant Ocean City, Maryland or Cape May, NJ, the water of the Gulf of Mexico was nice. Otherwise, this is your typical "party" beach spot, which isn't really my thing. Down the road a bit from Panama City are also a bunch of outlets, for those who are interested in shopping.
Billy's Oyster Bar - Great Establishment
by MatthewMetcalfe about Billy's Oyster Bar
Billy's Oyster Bar has been around a LONG time. They serve great seafood and beer with a focus on Oysters. If you want oysters, this place is worth checking out. They've been doing it so long that they must be doing it right. While oysters are their speciality, I thought the boiled shrimp was the best. I'm not a huge oyster fan but friends who are go to Billy's.
The Cold Beer ain't too bad either! :)
March_13's new Panama City Beach Page
by March_13
We generally go down to Panama City Beach at least once a year, February happens to be our choice, it brings us out of "winter" quicker. We had our own pool so weren't interested in summer beaches. We always stay at the Palmetto Motel. It is privately owned, moderate prices, housekeeping units, indoor and heated outdoor pool, right on the beach. We have been doing this for about 10 years. We have our favorite "oyster bar", Dusty's, it burnt down early this year but is now reopened.
Our last visit in May was at our daughters new condo at Peachtree Place, it is located across the street from the beach, new with rental units and homeowners.
