Have you considered a private beach condo? in my opinion this is your most economically way to rent long term. Your price guide for a monthly beach condo on the Pensacola Panhandle range from low $1200 high $1400 or average $45 daily. The usually have well appointed full kitchens with washer/dryer. American Airlines flies into Pensacola. But if you can get cheaper airfare check into flying to Mobile, Alabama and driving to Pensacola. The drive from Mobile to Pensacola is only an hour and it goes by very quickly. Check Southwest Airlines at www.southwest.com for flights into Mobile, Alabama. The drive from Mobile to Pensacola is scenic. You will pass by Battleship Park and see several aircraft and a battleship on display.
This aircraft is what brought me to the Pensacola area. It is an AC130(H) Spectre Gunship. The company I work for manufactures the Infrared system used for targeting. The two big guns are trainable to the Infrared and LLLTV (Low Light Level TV) systems and are deadly accurate. These aircraft have been used in numerous conflicts throughout the world and I've had the pleasure of accompany them to several of these places.
McGuire's Irish Pub first opened in 1977 in a small shopping centre in Pensacola. McGuire cooked and tended bar and Molly waited tables and greeted customers. In 1982 McGuire’s moved to its new location where it is now. It was really a little early for dinner when we came through Pensacola but I had read up on this place and wanted to try it so we decided to have an early dinner. The atmosphere is truly unique with theme-oriented rooms like the Pipers Den, Notre Dame Room, The Irish Links Room or the Ruprecht O'Tolf Wine Cellar. I think we were in the latter. It is deceiving how big it really is and the staff are really great.
They also brew their own beer (Ale’s, Porters and Stouts) on the property. Their wine selection is very good as well and they are said to have one of the largest Restaurant display wine cellars in the world with even a bottle of 1905 Mouton-Rothschild Bordeaux. There is all the traditional Irish fare like Shepherd's Pie, Rosemary Scented Irish Lamb Stew, Irish Steak and Mushroom Pie as well as a 3/4 lb. gourmet steak burger. Their seafood comes from all over the world. The steaks are Certified Angus Corn-fed beef, never frozen and hand cut daily. They are said to be famous for serving the best steaks, seafood, burgers and Irish fare this side of Boston.
When Molly made her first tip of one dollar, she decided to tack it to the back bar for good luck. In time friends of the pub added their dollar to the collection and it soon became tradition. Today you will see $1 bills everywhere. There are said to be over $250,000 one dollar bills hanging from the ceiling throughout the Pub in Pensacola and I don’t think Destin is too far behind. An amazing sight. We added our couple of dollars to the collection.
. Because it was early, I only had a house Caesar Salad which was a starter but it was delicious. Apparently the burgers were excellent though, so much that we checked out the Destin branch of McGuires when we stayed there.

The Naval Aviation History Museum in Pensacola is a great place to spend an afternoon. The Imax theatre alone makes it worth the trip. The museum actualy has the Officers club that was in Cubi Point, Philippines before Mt. Pinatubo erupted. The club has been reassembled and is now fully operational.
