We stayed at this hotel in April 2008 upon a friends recommendation and just wanted to share our experience with others possibly considering a stay on the beach. We found this hotel to be in a very good location as we could literally walk to all of the shops and restaurants. When we booked our room we didn't know about the private beach area in the back of the hotel that sits on the bay and has hammocks and loungers right on the beach. Our room was nice and had a mic and fridge in it and 2 queen sized beds in it. The breakfast was great and had waffles that the kids loved making themselves. The gulf beaches and the fishing pier were right across the street which was perfect as my family loves to fish. The staff were very friendly and even gave my son a raft for him to use in the outdoor pool that overlooked the bay. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and our family cannot wait to visit again soon!
Unique Quality: The bayfront swimming pool & private beach area on the bay. The pagoda's & hammocks on the beach. Great continental breakfast that had waffles & sausage biscuits. Across the street from the gulf & gulf fishing pier. Views of the bay and of the gulf. Walking distance to all of the shops & restaurants/lounges. Business center in breakfast room area. Friendly staff.

I didn't stay at this hotel - I took the picture as we drove around on Pensacola Beach assessing the damage from Ivan in 2004 and Rita in 2005. The sign says welcome, and the website has rates on it. The rates range from $79-98 for a double in the off season (winter - Nov to Feb) to $179 for a double on the weekend in the summer. For special events (Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Blue Angels performance) the rates are even higher and a three day minimum stay is required.
Unique Quality: Their website says:
Our guests enjoy all of the advantages you've come to expect from Comfort Inn, including a full continental breakfast served every morning.
The Comfort Inn Pensacola Beach offers 100 rooms each equipped with a microwave, refrigerator, coffemaker, and King or Queen size beds in every room.
I thought $109 a night was too much for this hotel room.
The room had 2 queen beds, a microwave, coffee maker, tv, iron/ironing board, small fridge, etc. And it was right across the street from the beach. But considering that the beach was practically deserted due to the recent hurricane, devestation was still nearly everywhere (there was hardly anything open and thus, not much to do), there was hair in the bathtub and on day 2 the toilet overflowed and I was ankle-deep in water... $109 seemed just a tad bit high! Maybe your stay will be more reasonable.
The simple breakfast was decent.
Unique Quality: This hotel is right across the street from the beach. Also across the street are some bars and restaurants, many of which are now closed because of the hurricane damage (as of Jan 2005)
