Pompano Beach is a city crowded with high-rises and commercial development. I have passed through here on several occasions while heading up coastal route A1A from Ft. Lauderdale. While I haven't spent time outside of the car here, I got the vibe that it's not quite as desirable a place to call home as other Broward County communities. Just north of Pompano, the Hillsboro Point Lighthouse is one of the most recognizable landmarks in Broward County.

Pompano Beach is part of the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale Metropolitan Area.
