More about Alexander Homestead
wonderful stay, great place to have wedding
We had a wonderful time at the bed and breakfast. Our wedding was picture purfect. Bonnie took care of everything down to the most simple thing. The historic area is so wonderful there. We will be back soon.we would tell everyone it is a wonderful place to go..
Home Sweet Home
My daughter and I just visited the Alexander Homestead Bed and Breakfast; this is the most wonderful place. The B&B was decorated from head to toe with Christmas including a "real" Christmas tree. When we came down stairs in the morning the aroma from the wonderful breakfast and the tree brought back such wonderful memories of Christmas mornings past. The hospitality was just suburb. Close distance to every thing. I can not wait to go back over and over again.
Truly Spectacular & enchanting!
We spent our "honeymoon" at the Alexander Homestead Bed and Breakfast in St. Augustine and it was the best and truly enchanting locations that we have ever resided for that stay. The innkeeper, Bonnie is truly a lovely person from her warm welcome, warm and lovely home/inn and her hospitality. We were made to feel 'special' while at her home/inn. The accomodations "Lady Grace" is romantic and extremely comfortable from the wonderful room color and accents to the 'EXTRA SPECIAL TOUCHES' that Bonnie provided due to our special occassion. She did not leave a thing out or left to be wanted. Breakfast was prepared with care and served with friendly and care expressed service. Bonnie has a wonderful Inn employee, Terry, who could not have been more wonderful and friendly. I truly hated to leave, just felt like home. Will be going back as often as one can. When all is said and done a wonderful and enchanting Inn and Inn Keeper! Thank you so much for the wonderful time!
Beautiful, extremely clean Victorian style gem
Alexander Homestead was a beautiful destination experience. The whirlpool tub alone was worth the ride from Orlando. The beautiful decorations felt like I stepped into the Christmas issue of Victorian Magazine. Our gracious Hostess and the abundant, delicious breakfast made for a totally pleasurable stay.
The Alexander Homestead holds a very special place in my and my husband’s heart - we were married and honeymooned there in December 2004. The lovely owner, Bonnie Alexander, arranged and performed an enchanting and intimate ceremony in the Victorian parlor with beautiful flowers, cake, champagne, and music. A horse-drawn carriage then whisked us away into the oldest city in America. The Homestead sits prettily and perfectly outside the hustle and bustle of historic downtown, yet within walking distance.
We stayed in the exquisite Alexandria Suite. It is elegantly decorated with antique furniture, chandelier, fireplace and jacuzzi tub for two. Bonnie’s own handmade bath products, chocolates on the pillows, cordials and other delightful surprises were left for us. Bonnie arranged a couples massage for us in our room and many other activities during our stay.
In the mornings, coffee is left by the door prior to the delectable homemade breakfast that is served promptly at 9:00 a.m. in the dining room which is formally set. She also made us a scrumptious picnic lunch that we took to Anastasia Beach.
We had never stayed at a bed and breakfast before The Alexander Homestead, and Bonnie has so spoiled us that we never want to stay in a hotel again. We just recently went back to The Alexander Homestead for our One Year Anniversary in December 2005. Bonnie’s genuine charm and attention to every detail always makes each visit magical and unforgettable.
A First Class Establishment
Not only was this my first time staying at a Bed & Breakfast....my wedding was held there also. Our room was superbly decorated in Victorian style, the common area was exquisite and daily breakfast was delectable. The owner,Bonnie Alexander, has added extra touches such as chocolates on your pillows, bathrobes, coffee delivered outside your door each morning and much more. We had a private porch with a ceiling fan and seating, a wood burning fireplace and chandeliers hanging in the room and in the bathroom. All the details of our wedding were handled by Bonnie, making for a romantic, stress free affair. I would highly recommend this B&B. We will be returning for our 1 year anniversary...looking forward to being pampered again.
Loved Alexander Homestead
My husband and I recently stayed at the Alexander House in February, 2006. In fact Bonnie made all of our wedding plans, from the flowers, cake, photojournalist, carriage ride, champagne toast and performed the most beautiful ceremony I have ever witnesses. We didn't have to worry about anything. She took care of everything... Thanks to her, our wedding was a day we will never forget. We plan on making the Alexander House a place we will recommend to our friends, not to mention, a place where we will spend special days, like our anniversary next year.
Everything from the service to her fine homemade breakfast is just wonderful.
I highly recommend the Alexander Homestead!!!

An Incrediblly Romantic B&B
We just returned from a long weekend at Alexander Homestead Bed and Breakfast in St Augustine, Florida. This is our sixth visit and it just keeps getting better and better!
Bonnie Alexander is one of nicest, warmest hosts we have ever met (and we've met many since we always stay in B&Bs)and very definitely the best breakfast chef we have ever encountered. From our first visit we felt like we made a friend and now we know we have! Bonnie is what makes her B&B an unforgetable experience.
The house is located on a quiet side street in the historic section of St. Augustine and within minutes you are in the center of the Old Town. Upon entering the house, you step back in time to the Victorian era - elegance and romance are everywhere. The five guest rooms are different from one another but all share a common theme of comfort and romance. Bonnie's attention to detail in her decorating and providing amenities is incredible. Several rooms have private sitting porches, fireplaces and soaking tubs. The rate charged is directly proportionate to the size of the room (even the smaller rooms are large!) which in turn dictates the amenities. We have stayed in the three upstairs rooms and loved them all.
Bonnie provides a nice selection of afternoon complimentary wines, sodas, beer, and cordials and in the morning, coffee is outside your door by 8 AM. While you are feasting on Bonnie's breakfast in the elegant dining room, the staff is attending to your room. Time permitting, Bonnie will join her guests for that last cup of coffee.
Breakfast is totally homemade by Bonnie and includes a fruit, granola & cream starter, followed by a hot entree and breads plus unlimited juice, coffee or other beverages. The vast majority of Bonnie's recipes are her creation and although unique, appealing to all. She will gladly share her recipes with you if asked.
Whether a special occasion or a planned visit to St. Augustine or just a well-deserved get-away, find your way to Alexander Homestead Bed and Breakfast and enjoy an incredibly romantic experience.
We love Bonnie's bed and breakfast!!
February 26, 2006
We just returned from staying at the Alexander Homestead and Breakfast in St. Augustine, Fl. This is our third stay here with Bonnie Alexander. She always makes our stays very pleasant and we like her excellent hospitality. Her rooms are very carefully decorated with her touch of the Victorian Era selected for each of her unique rooms. And the breakfasts are excellent! We always look foward to going downstairs each morning to find a delicious homemade breakfast. She always visits us then to ask if we have any questions regarding anything in St. Augustine. She is always ready to help with anything extra you might want to do from preparing a picnic for you to having a car pick you up to take you to a wonderful restaurant. We look foward to seeing her again! John & Virginia
Quaint and relaxing B&B
This year my husband and I stayed at the Alexander Homestead B&B and were very impressed.
Bonnie, the innkeeper, is such a sweetheart and goes out of her way to assist you in any manner you need. Setting us up with a "courtesy" ride to a restaurant Offering champagne & chocolate covered strawberries in our room upon arrival. Having a fridge stocked with complimentary alocohlic and non-alcoholic beverages. And from complimentary brandy & Schnapp's for a nightcap,to chocolates from a local chocolate shop in town.
She helped set us up with a scenic boat ride. Just ask Bonnie, and she knows how to make your stay most enjoyable.
The house smells so homey, and has the victorian ambiance that makes us feel like we're at grandma's house. Since we were the first to arrive, I checked out 4 of the 5 rooms that are available, making a mental note of the ones I'd like to stay in next year when we go back. Every room has a name and we stayed in the Sweet William. Very comfortable and roomy. We had our own back door entrance as well as use of the interior hallway where you creak down the stairs in the morning to the smell of a gourment breakfast, and it is fabulous. Oh, and coffee is set outside your room every morning before breakfast, so you can sit on your private porch and enjoy the early morning sounds of birds. Very peaceful. We also made time to sit on the shady front porch bench swing and just kick back. Very relaxing.
