Worth Finding

by tfrankguy0 about Treasure Ship

I guess you could call this place unusual to say the least, staying at the beachers lodge across the street it looked like something from a old seaport dive, but one of the other guests said it was really great , the first thing we got was a road kill menu, my wife thought it was for real, the place was a lot of fun and the food was superb, the owner did a few magic tricks and was really funny, he also prepared outr meal, the fried oysters were lightly coated and not lost in the usual coating I will say that the food was on a plane with the fancier restaurants, but not as pricey and a lot more enjoyable, we had fried shrimp, broiled fish and fried oysters, and they were great ,

If it helps, the website for this cologne can be found at http://www.agustinreyes.com/index.htm

Perhaps sending an email or calling them (see the Contact Us page) would generate the shop's name, or perhaps you could just order online...

Travel Tips for Saint Augustine

Packing List

by lourdesmaria

A small suitcase is best, one on wheels. Don't overpack. There are plenty of stores in the downtown area where you can buy extra clothing you may need. It's warm in the fall, so bring your summer clothes. Casual dress is best.

St. Augustine City Hall (nee Alcazar Hotel)

by Ewingjr98

St. Augustine's city hall, a boring old government building, right? Not really. It is also a historic building constructed on a historic site and a popular museum.

Like Flagler College's main building across the street, the city hall structure was one of Flagler's grand hotels in central St. Augustine. The hotel was constructed from 1887 to 1889 in the Spanish Renaissance style, and was one of the first buildings in the world made of poured concrete. Designed to attract only the wealthiest of clients, the hotels had not only sulfur baths and a steam room, but also the world's largest indoor swimming pool of the time.

Not only is the hotel itself a historic landmark, but it was constructed on another historic site, Fort Mose. This fort, part of St. Augustine's early defensive system, was constructed in 1738.

A big part of the old hotel is now the Lightner Museum. When the hotel closed in 1930, it remained vacant until 1949 when it was purchased by Chicago publisher Otto C. Lightner. Today the museum continues to house and display Lightner's vast collection of Victorian artifacts. Admission to the museum is $10 for adults.

The most popular ways to see...

by SeaBreezeUSA

The most popular ways to see St. Augustine are aboard one of the many trolley tours, by foot or by scenic day cruises. It takes a solid two hours to see the entire city on foot, not taking into account stopping into the exhibits and buildings for tours. On foot is, in my opinion, the best way to see the old city. It is only about 13 square blocks, and most of the historical things are concentrated in a 8 square block area. When you arrive, stop by the visitor information center for a map, free brochures, literature, and discounts on tickets, tours, and museums. The center is open 8 am-5:30 pm and is located at 10 Castillo Dr. 904-461-0119

August and September are good times to visit because they are when St Augustine celebrates its creation with various festivals celebrating the city's rich cultural past.

Foos and view at Fiddler's Green

by easterntrekker about Fiddler's Green

The food was pretty good when we went and it is right at the beach area!! The only problem was it was packed and we had to sit in the patio area and it was a little too cool. out. Coconut shrimp and Oysers are winners!!
