Anastasia State park: Great Park with lots of trails.
The state park is a wonderful park, with tons of great trails and a great beach front.
The campsites are a little less then average on design and size, but the restrooms are very nice and clean.
They do have internet, but only at the snack shop which is about 1 mile from campground.
Wildlife abounds here which is great to see, and we even got to see a nice cat, looked more like a Lynx to me, but others say it was a Bob Cat.
Play ground is a bit disappointing as it is very large and nice, but only has swings.
Unique Quality: Many in park historical sites to see, as well as windsurfing, kayaking, its own beachfront, and plenty of fishing.

Seabreeze Motel: dive
Looking for the thinnest toilet paper available? How about a coffin-like shower? Want a 20 minute presentation on how to operate the remote control by a drunken motel owner (but very nice)? Then Seabreeze is for you. This place was a throwback to the 50's. But at $59 a night, it's hard to beat for cheap stays.
Unique Quality: A Phone in every room!! plus, it's American owned. Both facts proudly displayed on the sign out front.

Seabreeze Motel: A cheap place to sleep in St. Augustine
The Seabreeze is a very basic, no frills hotel in a pretty good location: on the A1A, just on the other side of the bridge from downtown St. Augustine. In fact, you can walk to the downtown area is you're up to it.
The rooms are small, the shower is about the size of a coffin...but it's a good value for the price. I found the bed comfortable - I certainly slept well there. And, being on the A1A, the beaches are certainly driveable.
If you're looking to visit St. Augustine on a budget, try the Seabreeze. It's a good value

Private Rental Property: Private Rental Property
We stayed in a private residence on Anastasia Island..It was PERFECT! We were about four miles from downtown St Augustine and a stones throw from the beach. Every night we could sit out on the balcony and listen to the surf, it was heaven..What it is is a one bedroom "loft" over a garage that the owner rents out by the week..It has a small kitchen, living room, laundry room, bathroom and bedroom..Just perfect for two people but you could sleep four if you really needed/wanted to because there is a futon in the living room.
It was only 110.00 per night with a 65.00 cleaning fee, very reasonable. What was really nice was that it was at the very end of a dead end road that ended at the beach! AND the second nicest thing was that it was within walking distance to a few really good eating/drinking establishments..Like I said HEAVEN.
Unique Quality: Really good view of the beach and St Johns County Pier, within walking distance to a few really good restaurants/bars.

Barrier Island Inn and Restaurant: sweet bed and breakfast on the intracoastal
I live very close to this place and was intrigued by it's attractive building and it's location on the water. I stopped by for lunch one day and was pleasantly surprised by the food and the ambiance. They also rent kayaks, and have a circle of stones that you walk on and use for meditation purposes.. I had a seafood salad for lunch with a warm baguette---muy delicioso--- I don't know why I said that in Spanish, because it's not Latin food...
Unique Quality: The view from the restaurant/bar is beautiful...the rooms look heavenly. They have different packages that you can choose from. One of them is 238 for "one night of hot steamy romance" ( I swear, that 's what it says) anyway, for 238$ you get one of the beautiful rooms, a bottle of champagne and homemade chocolate chip cookies on arrival, candlelit dinner for two at the restaurant and a gourmet breakfast...
Some day........

SeaWinds: Oceanfront Condominiums
A beautifully decorated and furnished condo right on the beach. Three stories with two bedrooms, two baths, laundry room, and a one car garage on the lower level. Living room, dining room, kitchen, breakfast area, fireplace, and a half bath on the middle level. Upper level was a master bedroom with bath. All levels had a private balcony or patio. Great for the whole family.
Unique Quality: A great view from the balconies of the white sand Atlantic beach. Swimming pool with a whirlpool and tennis courts are also available. Beautiful walkway over the conservation area and the dunes to the beach.
