A search of http://www.petswelcome.com brings up two properties in St. Augustine which accept pets; Quality Inn Historic District 1111 N. Ponce De Leon Blvd. 32084 (877) 424-6423 and Quality Inn 2310 State Road 16 32084 (877) 424-6423. Another option that you might want to check into is Vacation Rentals By Owner (www.vrbo.com).

You could also look at Anastasia Island, still part of Saint Augustine. Several of my relatives rented condos there before buying; we started at the Ocean and Racquet Club... I forget the names of the rest of the hotels nearby, but if you Google map it you should be able to see the names. I remember seeing quite a few pets there.

Whatever you do, don't stay at the Comfort Inn right off of the beach on A1A. Have only heard bad things. Although it would be economical to stay there and they do accept pets, I would be wary honestly. I use http://www.pet-friendly-hotels.net/ when I'm looking for pet friendly places and the comfort inn reviews are not good.
